Agreed. I think the real winner is Analyst Forum that is probably parlaying these hits to higher ad-related revenue. You’re welcome AF. I bet they’re also watching this thread like…
You’re right, you never actually mentioned a betrayal. However, since you made a biblical reference, I assumed you had some familiarity with the situation. This story is known as Judas betraying Jesus by handing him over for money (even though he was supposed to be a loyal disciple). Judas is commonly referred to as a traitor. So, you’re right, you never said it, but it’s one of the most common associations with the story (for people actually familiar with the story…). Pardon my misguided question where I merely asked if you were implying the betrayal… Finally, it’s quite apparent that individuals in a common group can have similar and dissimilar views, no one made any contentions otherwise…
Glad to be of service…
It certainly does occur during the day. As I’m sure you know, the earth rotates as it orbits the sun. This means that the moon can be out of sight for those experiencing what we call “day”-- if you (could) see a part of the world where it’s “night” you will see this same moon. You don’t usually see the moon during the day because your location on earth is “turned away” from the moon (or it’s too faint against the sky for you to notice). Did you also know that there are certain places on Earth where the sun doesn’t set during certain parts of the year? Don’t take my word for it, though…
It doesn’t only occur at night, you just can’t see it (usually) when you’re experiencing your “day”. I realize that there are many common perceptions about things (and they catch on with the general public), but that doesn’t make them correct, and you certainly can’t argue science with your opinion…
Opinions don’t equate to facts, unfortunately. Tip for you: try not to be so redundant-- it hinders your writing…
I never said you could see it at any time of day. I said there are often times when it can be spotted during the day…
Good luck! But please, inform yourself on this topic. You seem somewhat arrogant and possibly in disbelief that what I told you wasn’t in your knowledge base-- I’m sorry you feel that way.
P.S. you’re really not going to like them when they tell you that the moon rise/set schedule has nothing to do with the sun’s schedule…I’ll check back to see if you enjoyed learning a little bit more…
CFAbeatmeup , what do you think of this? Do the CFA exam twice a year, but you need to pass both to pass the L2 exam? or Do the exam twice a year, but you only need to pass one of the exams to pass the L2 exam? What are your thoughts on this? Do the exam once a year, but keep same level of difficulty? Do the exam twice a year, but increase the level of difficulty on both exam? Do the exam twice a year, but increase the level of difficulty only on the second exam? I want to know how you would change the curriculum so that 2 exams can be administered. I actually want to be able to write this exam once per quarter so that anyone who desires to write this exam as much as I do has the chance to get it. And my sister who is mechanic and sign up for it as well. I think she can pass it if she gets 4 chances to write it a year.
If she could write the exam twice a year, I bet you anything she can be a CFA charterholder no problem with a little bit of studying. Not because the exam is easy to pass but she is smart!
Man, my sister also passed her exams to be a doctor and it would be the last thing on earth I would want to see her passing CFA exams if she were to take it, as at home our proud mother asks every day whats more impressive - CFA or MBBS and a tug of war goes on.
This is fast turning out to be one of the oddest theads on AF.
This is a completely pointless assertion. Etymology (common usage) always trumps revisionist pedants, the moon also refects starlight and is itself a blackbody radiator just like the sun, so it’s not really possible to uphold the point using science.
Putting that to one side… the next (non temporary) CEO will undoubtedly be a charterholder. Dwight C. could never do it in his interim role. Personally I can see the ‘no partial qualification’ stance getting reversed as well as twice yearly L2, depends on who gets to be CEO - Fabozzi would get my vote.
Times change, CFAI doesn’t. Just the mere fact that L1 is given 2x/yr, so should L2. Two funnels pouring into one-- makes a lot of sense only to anachronistic thinkers who are stuck in the past. This is 21st century, all prof-orgs test > 1x/yr with flexible test windows. Paper and pencil, artificial hurdles, fixed test date, protection of the Chart, all 20th century.
Not an argument designed to get you a place on the debate team.
Now, back to your first sentence. You’ll note that your second sentence undermines your first: CFA Institute changed from Level I once-a-year to Level I twice-a-year.
Yeah, you can ease up on the psychotic hyperbole any time now Mikey. It was funny (citation needed) the first time but weeks of the same posts is grating.
My point was to give him a bit of a hard time (in good spirit, of course), since the solar and lunar schedules are independent of one another, and because it is quite possible to see the moon during the daytime (and, as a part of my side note, I pointed out there isn’t any light “coming from” the moon…).
Common usage doesn’t change facts, regardless of what most people believe to be true. Try and argue against that all you want, but it isn’t changing a thing. In another example, many people interchange the words speed and velocity, but they are different concepts. Again, just because people think something is correct, doesn’t make it correct.
Give him a pat on the back because he supported you. Just notice that you’ve yet to reply to my post where I addressed everything you said …maybe I was so helpful and clear that you had no further questions?
