GMAT … Just practice. The biggest challenge on it is doing everything in the amount of time they give you. I made the mistake of thinking it was a test of my competence and didn’t do as well on the math part because I took more time than I had. Ironically, verbal pulled me back up to a decent score. I aced the essay too, which came up in my interview for B-school, so don’t completely blow it off. Practice, practice, practice. It’s not rocket science, it’s just a race against the clock.
hi all this is my first post on this forum I have taken the L2 in June this year but took it out of my head. I read some interesting posts about the passing score to be around 60%, this gave me hope as I came out of there thinking I did somewhere between 60% - 70%. but you never know and I’d rather be prepared for a fail as well
Its so frustrating… I wish it were August 19th and we knew already. So nerve-wracking and frustrating. I think about it all the time.
In Level I, my wife is pragnant. In Level II, one is 4-year-old and the other is 7-month-old. Several months before the exam, I had stopped all exercise. After the exam, I spend most of my spare time to play with children, jogging, swimming and do some housekeeping which have been delayed for several months. Other than that, I spend some time to collect the Level III materials, e.g. used books, pass exam paper, etc, over the internet, considering the probability to use it next year.

Back in college and before I got injured, old and fat, I was a competitive runner. After the season was over, the cross-country team I was on used to do “chunderung runs” - run 2 kilometers, then drink 6 oz of beer. Then repeat 5x. You got time added on for each time you “chundered” (i.e. tossed cookies). That sounds like more fun than your dream.
CFASF1! good to hear from you! I’ve tried really hard not to even think about the results or rather the date on which they will be released. I am quite happy that they have decided to declare a date rather than have this mystery of “late August” be the time frame. Did a nice vac. with the family for two weeks out west, done some golf, but recent illness has curtailed my abilities to run and get back into shape as I had hoped for.
Level I is getting their results in about a week and a half. At that point, nobody who checks this forum will be able to push results out of their head.
Hey FastEd. hopefully the illness is nothing serious… at least you have a legit excuse not to work out… i don’t have one. anyone else catch the 2 page ad that the cfai took out in this week’s economist? it’s all about ethics… it says ETHICS in bold. then under it, something like rigor, analysis and one other thing… that made me freak out because i think i bombed ethics. yes. i have gone nuts again.
I did bad on ethics too. Hopefully it won’t be a deal breaker.
i don’t want to jinx you mwvt, or i’d propose the mwvt august calls again ( i would have made money on the last ones, mind you.) … noone knows for sure how they did on ethics. they were so ambiguous… but i’m with you, i don’t think i did well on it and i certainly don’t want them to put extra weight on that section…
I don’t mind jinxing you at all…so I am going with cfasf1 calls. Who wants in?
i’m unfortunately massively long on those calls and can’t do much to protect the downside. blah… sell it… SELL IT ALL!!!
i’m buying.
hey, what’s up vino? good to see you back… i appreciate the support from you guys, but i’m feeling very 50-50. oh well. we’ll find out soon enough. good luck to all of you guys… get back to relaxing while you have it!! by the way, there are some stressed out people at level 3 this year. man. it’s never in the bag until you get that gigantic certificate in the mail, i guess.
