Yes I know… But come on do you really think he made 4/6 in all of those? Seriously? We all have the 70% rule embedded in our brains… The reality points To somewhere just below r above that depending on the difficulty of the exam… Is not fair that in the past when the cfai published it’s grading criteria with the 70th percentile or something that now that the exam is tougher that this passing rate will be @ 70… Don’t think so… Cheer up we might get lucky t

I’m hearing from a few people that L3 wasn’t too bad this year. I should have been in L2’s group last year
My pass score looks pretty much disgusting. I do feel for guys/girls with more sections above 70% than I had. I must have been really scoring high in each category (luck is a nonsense notion in this exam, when you work your a$$ off and study and not just go blank into this exam guessing). So, here it is: Level 2: Pass The table below illustrates your subject matter strengths and weaknesses. The three columns on the right are marked with asterisks to indicate your performance on each question or topic area. Q# Topic Max Pts <=50% 51%-70% >70% - Alternative Investments 18 * - - - Corporate Finance 36 - - * - Derivatives 36 - * - - Economics 18 - * - - Equity Investments 72 * - - - Ethical & Professional Standards 36 - * - - Financial Reporting & Analysis 72 - - * - Fixed Income Investments 36 - - * - Portfolio Management 18 - * - - Quantitative Methods 18 - - *
That is discouraging to see, as from everything I can see (with the exception of FSA & FI) I had a better score. I guess my worst was worse than his best? Annoying to even be thinking about this…I cant believe I bombed accounting, the questions were straight forward but I just couldnt figure them out. So frustrated I didnt pass, and the extremely low pass rate…congrats to those who did. - Alternative Investments 18 - * - better - Corporate Finance 36 - - * same - Derivatives 36 - * - same - Economics 18 - * - same - Equity Investments 72 - * - better - Ethical & Professional Standards 36 - - * better - Financial Reporting & Analysis 72 * - - worse - Fixed Income Investments 36 - * - worse - Portfolio Management 18 - * - same - Quantitative Methods 18 - - * same Does anyone know how the pass rate is calculated and why it would have been so low? Were the scores worse or what would have caused this?
here’s my failure…can we not appeal? this cfa thing is a farse - Alternative Investments 18 - - * - Corporate Finance 36 - * - - Derivatives 36 - - * - Economics 18 - - * - Equity Investments 72 - * - - Ethical & Professional Standards 36 - * - - Financial Reporting & Analysis 72 - * - - Fixed Income Investments 36 - - * - Portfolio Management 18 * - - - Quantitative Methods 18 - - *
It’s not a farce, it is possible that I scored relatively high on each margin, meaning, 50% in those <=50%, 70% on those 51%-70% and very high in the >70%. While someone with a “better” score, was on the low end, even on those >70%.

Rebirtha, are you sure that was a failure?
