MPS?

How comes that mine 40/60/80 estimated score is 60.3% , maximum score is 73.3 % , ethics is >70 % and I failed band 9?

Sorry to sound rude but you answered your own question : it is possible that you scored only 45.5 %, and it is known that the minimum passing score was above 59% (since at least one guy with a minimum score of 59% failed).

What is strange with a fail when you may have score 45%?

That is why 40/60/80 do not help at all to find out the MPS… only min and max scores do.

No, you don’t sound rude. What I am saying is that persons with a minimum score less then mine, estimated scores less than mine and ethics less that 50% while mine is over 70% passed. That was my point!

Yes it is frustrating but not “strange”

The only strange thing would be if their maximum score was below your minimum score and they passed while you failed.

I did not see such a case yet !

Please take a look at the littlepocketball01 post which is some posts above this one where he stated his or her estimated, minimum, and maximum score which are below mine and at the same time he or she pass but i fail.

I do see his post.

I see that it is very well possible that his score was 70% (below his maximum possible score) while yours was 46% ( above your minimum score)

So consequently, I see nothing strange that he passed while you failed.

For example, if they were only three item sets (6 points each) , his score could be:

3/6

3/6

6/6

for a total score of 12/18 , while your score could be:

0/6

4/6

5/6 for a total score of 9/18

His matrix (<=50, <=50, >70) would be worse than yours (<=50, 50-70, >70)

His min/estimated/max would be below yours for the three figures and still he would deserve a pass if the MPS was 10 while you would get a fail

Your minimum score was 45.5 compared to 45.4 for littlepocketball01.

Your maximum score was 73.3 compared to 72.4 for littlepocketball01.

Your estimated score was 60.3 compared to 59.7 for littlepocketball01.

I can see why you would be frustrated not to pass. In this case, littlepocketball01’s actual score was higher than yours.

I compared my Level 2 band 10 matrix with passing matrices and 40/60/80 scores a couple of years ago and had similar thoughts and ultimately concluded that the 40/60/80 analysis has its limitations.

Huh?

Not really. I got 4. I’ve seen people pass with 5 or 6. You just need to make up for it with either some really good AM questions >70 or dominate the PM.

Pass with 48.4/61.4/74.7.

AM: 6 under 50, 4 between, 4 over 70.

PM: 4 between, 5 over.

40/60/80 : 62%

Min : 46%

Max 76.4%

Pass

too many assumption goes in this 40/60/80. . I dont think you can deduce much from it.

Passed

40/60/80: 61.8%

minimum 46.2%

maximum 76%

AM:

<=50% on 115 pts, 51-70% on 26 pts, and >70% on 39 pts (bombed morning!)

PM:

<=50% on 18 pts, 51-70% on 36 points, and >70% on 126 pts

Hope that helps :slight_smile:

40/60/80: 71.1%

Min: 62.8%

Max: 87.8%

AM:

<=50% on 51pts, 50-70% on 41pts, >70% on 88 pts

PM:

50-70% on 18pts, >70% on 162 pts

I am waiting to see the guideline answer for the AM Econ and Equity questions.
