My best guess

If the MPS is 65%…the pass rate will not be in the high 70s…are you taking the piss. Mr. Average (i.e. 50% cut-off point) is getting 50% in the morning and 80% in the afternoon. i.e. 65% MPS and a 50% pass rate. I will take this bet no question

equity is making me mad/sad/emotional/grumpy. let’s keep going with people’s estimates for their scores…view mine at the top of the thread.

Got a link for the new testing format?

And what about the “using the CFAI books theaory for 08 therefore higher pass rate”. I think u need to cool off. 70% MPS would kill a lot of people…I stand with my view. Anyone else with me? 66% MPS is the min.

just trying to work out when you became a bear on my base case of 69% score???

let’s keep pushing team…more estimates…will be interesting to compare to the real results

The MPS when the exam was 100% essay was close to 50%, this gives an indication of what the avg AM score is likely to be. A guy who gets 50% in AM has to get 90% in PM to pass if the MPS is 70%. I just dont see 35-40% of the candidates getting more than 90% in PM. The credential of any exam in which 40% of the candidates getting 40% has to be questioned.

sorry I meant 40% of the candidates getting more than 90%

The MPS of L1 is less than 70%, how can L3 be equal to 70% and this is supposed to be analystforum sheesh

>y not? 1. Level 1 is multiple choice and L3 is 50% essay 2. Most of the people here could not finish the morning paper whereas L1 was finished with 30-45 minutes to spare 3. The material is harder 4. I agree that quality of L3 candidates might be better than L1 candidates, but that is already reflected in the higher L3 pass rates.

Apollo, I’m a little surprised that you think people can come up with a reasonable estimate of their scores. I really remember very little from the test (some kind of PTSD) except questions where I know I screwed up. Still, if I try to estimate my scores, I will come out being optimistic and then I’ll be embarrassed later looking back at what I wrote. I think most people have the same experience—there are always surprises. Last year I had less than 50% on one section that I always scored nearly perfectly on in all practice tests. So all bets are off this year. I think the fact that so few people are answering your question shows how much uncertainty there is out there about these results. Hell, I start feeling queasy every time I think about it—I just really have no idea what happened.

agreed. Absolute disaster in the morning…so two months on I may just be hyping the reality and may be missing where I really blew up. Don’t get me wrong…I still feel very comfortable with my estimates…but i know what you mean about that element of doubt. But seriously…I think equity_res is taking the mickey with his “70%” mish mash for the MPS. He scored pretty well in his/her estimates and as a result is just hyping up for a surprise to the upside…just my view…sorry. That said…I still want him/her to pass…Seems very honest…was in email contact this morning.

Is equity male or female?

Batterinram…i hear u loud and clear…still standing 66% MPS

male i think

called me “dude”…that’s kind of guy-esque
