There is no way the MPS is 70%. That means that you need >70% on a lot of topics with a few 5070% on every topic, but the vast majority will not. Most people will have a handful of <50% areas. My guess is that the MPS will be around 60-62%. The days of the 52% MPS are over and 70% is pretty unreachable so I will go with the midpoint. My prediction for my score Morning: I think I did very well on the first 2 IPS questions and the corner portfolio question (70%) There were probably 30 points worth of questions where I really struggled (25%) The rest of the morning, I’d say I got around 50% (89)(0.70) + (30)(0.25) + (61)(0.50) = 55.7% Afternoon: I am pretty sure I missed at least 3 ethics questions I think there were about 5 others that I’m pretty sure I missed Probably another 7 that I don’t recall (60-15)/60 = 75% Est. Score = 65.35% If I was told that my score was 65%, I’d feel I have a good chance of passing.

I am with you…I would argue that we are on the cut-off point hezagenius. It feels like there is a growing mean towards 65% mark over the last two months as an AF average. I do however need to point out that AF people are probably smarter than the average bear.

Seriously if I didn’t get 65%, I will scream.

apollo … even i wish the MPS is where you state… but then instead of arguing lets wait for 19th and hope that your predictions are right and i m am proven wrong… I would be happy if i m proven wrong…(this time atleast)

apollo …dropped you a email…do reply

i agree with hezagenius. assuming the final split is as follows (considering both AM and PM, and considering PM was quite easy): 65%+ (20% of L3 candidates) 60-65% (45% of L3 candidates) < 60% (35% of L3 candidates) i have a feeling the mps be between 60-65%.

Jeez guys, stop worrying. Nothing we can do about it now.

have gone home for the evening…will reply in the morning equity_res

Wasn’t last year’s 40/60/80-derived MPS around 58? And isn’t even that number skewed higher because the sections below 50 can often be much closer to 0? Any thoughts?

I passed last year when the pass rate was 50%, the lowest in LIII history. I believe the MPS may have been between 58%-60%. Any one can guess what the MPS could be this year, but I definitely think the pass rate will be over 50%. Close to 60-65%.

More importantly, did you see a return on your time and effort investments or did it turn out to be a big scam ?

HECK YEAH! earning the CFA charter got me a promotion, immediate bonus and salary raise. Isn’t that enough return on time and effort. I spent 280h for studying for LIII. In just a few years I think most companies will make it mandatory to have the designation before they even hire anybody for even entry level financial positions. So it is irrelevant how much time one spends on studying for each level of the program or whether they will “earn a return on their time and effort”, as long as they finally have those 3 precious letters behind their name. If you get the CFA charter, it will all be more than well worth all the time and effort you have spent on earning it!

I was just worried there for a second, that I could end up with three letters to put next to the other letters with no real impact in the real world. I have enjoyed the program very much, I learned a lot of useful stuff, but my family had to go through a long period where I had only one thing on my mind and they have to be rewarded for that.

More guesstimates people…keep em coming…

apollo got my mail… and btw nice phrase… guesstimates
