Not finding it very difficult

You find it easy because you’re studying a lot and you’re smart.

What else is there to discuss?

I am confused why people need to come and tell the OP that he is somehow “not doing it right” by choosing to own the material and his results instead of complaining about it…

It is such a fine line between being respectful of the difficulty and overblowing it.

The fact that he had to preface his response to deflect any criticism is bizarre to me.

Hmm- I will not comment on the difficulty part as of now.

Lets see how the exam goes in June and the result we get in July.

If the general consensus is L2 is the hardest we must give due respect to the exam

I am underestimating myself and overestimating the exam…

BTW has anybody started with Swswer Q bank? How much is a good % in q bank this time ?

I seriously hope OP is just trolling, and I’m not just completely retarded. I’m using schewsers for equities atm, and there are quite a few sections where I find Schewser does a poor job of explaining.

I think people are just bothered by his post in general. There’s no discussion to be had unless he’s saying he finds it easier than Level I.

For what it’s worth:

People are more familiar with some topics naturally (whether through undergrad/graduate coursework or professional work experience). That being said, I think jumping between CFAI and Schweser (depending on level of comfort with readings) is a wise choice. I’ve seen L2 Quant so many times in undergrad/grad econometrics courses that I can practically do it in my sleep. Whereas Derivatives, FRA, FI, etc. will present fresh material that I’ve never seen.

All in all, I 100% expect the real exam to be much more tricky than EOCs in the CFAI. I’ve found that at least half of the EOCs in the CFAI are just concept drillers much like some of the Schweser note problems. I agree with the previous message with people feeling very comfortable with the material because conceptually it’s nothing too crazy (just a lot to memorize), sitting for the exam and walking out as if they were ready to write the check for level III registration only to get burned with a band 8 or 9 for the 2nd year in a row.

Not going to take anything for granted as it’s my first time preparing for this exam, and will definitely prepare for the worst. On a side note, I’ve known a good amount of people who walked out thinking they definitely failed the exam and then were surprised with passing results. I am a firm believer that it just comes down to the exam day and how well you test on that day. Some of it is luck, some nerves, but if you gave it an honest effort in preparing, then at least you can feel good about not shortcutting yourself.

Whatever it takes ladies and gentlemen.

Thanks for the comments, it’s refreshing to hear what other people think.

I would agree that a lot of the key concepts seem to repeat themselves throughout the material, however from what i’ve learnt on this forum, knowing the key concepts is just a recipe for failiure.

I have not yet started the EOCs but will be doing so during my second reading which starts on 11th March and I respect the CFAI enough to know that the EOC and the consquently the Exam will be much more challenging than anything i’ve been toying with in Schweser.

I would say that i’m much more of a quantitaive person (engineering degree) and I know my way around the financial statements (counterparty credit analyst), i’ve been studying everyday and I’ve learnt alot about my study technique primarily due to the CFA L1; so perhaps that has something to do with it.

And Yes…The WAY the questions are asked in the L2 exam are going to be one of the biggest challenges, coupled with the time pressures I’m almost certain that the exam will be more difficult. We’ll probably get to those types of threads closer to Mock Exam time.

I’m just going to keep plugging away, answer all the questions, make some notes and look forward to the start of the 2nd reading. That’s when I’ll start to feel the burn (i hope).

When all I was doing was reading the Schweser notes I also thought it was pretty easy stuff. I changed my mind though once I started doing the CFAI EOCs. It really brings things into perspective. If you’re basing your feelings purely off of the study notes, I’d do the real text’s EOCs and then see how you feel. If you still feel the same way I guess you’re just in really good shape, lol.

have read the schewser version of everything except equities/FRA/ethics and thought for the most part will be very manageable…

Decided to go with the CFAI books for FRA and so far its been a nightmare. Deciding to just power through it for what its worth and do my core FRA studying with Schewser. To be fair this is the first time I’ve ever touched a CFAI book and I think I’ve realised that I’m better off learning the core material than to slowly sift through a bunch of fluff, not guaranteeing I highlight what is important, or highlight something thats not important.

I think the elan reading do a great job of preparing you for the EOCs. I used to do them right after the reading but I find now 3-4 days inbetween gives you a good idea of what you learned vs. what you remembered from just having read.

I wouldn’t recommend using the CFA logo as your avatar.

hahaha, you just pull this out of nowhere Pierre.

I say pokhim is shitting his pants now

Who cares something is only hard if you don’t know it…it’s really that simple…doesn’t matter what anyone else’s level of mastery is, just study as much as possible and do the best you can…worse case its just a damn test…no one ever became super successful just bc of passing a level…it’s the information knowledge that’s most important…this site is just a distraction…go in with confidence what is done is done

definitely a distraction…especially when everyone says they are scoring 80%+ on the mocks. But its a small sample, and I’m going to just do the best I can given time/life constraints.

Pokhim, hey buddy! how’s your confidence level relative to when you opened this thread?

haha this thread.

Haha…Which muppet brought this one up?

I’m shitting myself…L2 is hard. I’ll be lucky for a pass. I just hope the exam is fair and doesn’t throw too many curve balls.

haha at least you can admit it man! tough is an understatement. hope we can all joke about this in a few months.
