Oversold LinkedIn Profiles

It is beyond attitude. I could have the greatest personality in the world but am still not getting calls based on my resume

The irony of this response is so massive it’s hard to fathom. Well played, sir.

.

It’s a true statement. Everyone says that my ego and lack ability to listen is the reason people are not interested in hiring me. I just dont see how this is the case when the prospective employers havent even talked to me. In my mine the reason they arent is because they dont like my resume, not that they dont like my personality.

Your wild insecurity/arrogance make you think you’re a big shot. You said earlier you applied to Apple and Walmart (and Google maybe? I can’t be bothered to look). Your resume, skills, and intelligence do not justify you applying to firms like that. You need to aim lower. But you can’t because of your absurd attitude. Hence why we keep returning to the fact that the source of your problems is your weird outlook on life.

YOUR EGO AND LACK OF ABILITY TO LISTEN IS STOPPING YOU FROM GETTING INTERVIEWS BECAUSE YOU ARE TAKING NOBODY ELSES ADVICE AND ARGUING WITH EVERYONE

if i put it in all caps will it make more sense?

Earlier on someone said I was overqualified and now im under qualified?

No. That makes no sense. The advice is that my ego is preventing me from getting interviews. Prospective employers dont know if I have a great or terrible ego from a resume submission.

once again, for the millionth time

Sound advice given, stupid retort in response.

you do know eventually people will just stop helping altogether, right?

And how many times have people on this thread told you to have someone else proof your resume? Yet, your arrogance and ego persevere and continue to resist the advice of those on this forum…

Well, that’s a separate issue. You are overqualified for entry-level corporate jobs because of your MBA. But you’re underqualified for the MBA-level jobs because you have no experience. So you’ve got that working against you.

The broader point, though, still stands: Your resume, skills, and intelligence are not top shelf. You can throw a few hail Marys (no reason not to, really) but the only places you will actually get an interview with your middling profile are middling firms.

How am I supposed to listen to advice when one person says i am overqualifed and another says I am underquaified? What is the proper way to follow that advice?

if you didn’t have the worlds biggest ego(for accomplishing literally nothing might i add), you might listen to people insanely more qualified than you, you might change your resume and/or how you are going about your job search, and you may land more interviews. that is how your ego is getting in the way. jesus christ it cant be this hard to understand. you have to be trolling.

Take one of these kiddo and get to work!

I already have had members of this forum, career center employees, and hiring managers. Im not sure who else you want me to have proof it.

Itera gave you solid advice in response to this… plumbing school.

I have yet to hear a reccomendation on a specific resume change or different method of going about the job search. It has been nothing but ego bashing.

Come one, man. You dont think I’m more qualified than 90% of college graduates? Top 13 percentile MBA with a 3,909 GPA, double major with decent GPAs, accounting minor, and multiple great standardized test scores above 94th percentile, with a 4 month paid corporate finance internship, my own startup business, and the fact that i teach others about finance, eco, and accounting on a daily basis. Isnt pretty good compared to the average entry-level hire?

^ This guy is pure gold.

What percentile would you say I am in for entry-level jobs then?
