Poll: Who takes the time to highlight important text as your read?

“a thing that uni girls do”

Some of us on here are actually women so it would be cool if there weren’t posts like this.

What the f* is a ‘uni girl’ anyways?

I didn’t highlight much in the actual books but I annoted the hell out of a 200 page notebook.

Well, uni- means one, so maybe it’s a girl who hasn’t a twin sister.

After my initial inappropriate thought, I originally interpretted it as Uni versity girls…

I hope they were not unilabiate or unipupilled…

Which is, no doubt, how it was intended.

i highlighted the important points + write mini notes on the margin. the highlight helps you recall the main points, mini notes will help you re-enforce understanding the main points.

I highlighted + wrote my own notes.

Then highlighted my own notes + made more compact notes from that

First I read the CFAI books eletronically, copying and pasting important content, and lastly from the summary notes, I make some flashcards. During the review weeks, I only look at my notes and flashcards.

First Read: the CFAI books and doing EOC questions

Second Read: Schweser books.

flash cards are the major reason i passed L1 and 2. theyre not just for formulas. Writing down the steps to problems and drilling through them will really cement it in your brain.

i took notes by hand for L1 and typed for L2 but i never went back and read them. This time I just write a summary that answers the LOS for the section I just read. I get the benefits of recall without taking too much time.

I highlighted.

I personally like highlighting, and taking notes and etc… Didn’t help me much. I was way more efficient in undergrad by just reading things and than doing practice questions. Thinking of droping the highlighter and all that other stuff and really develop my ability to remember and understand rather than having the feeling of checkmarking chapters.

Highlighting makes review *so much easier*

I highlight ad nauseam.

I also use different colors, so that my pages end-up looking like a gay flag (not that there anything wrong with that).

I underline in different colors more than I highlight. And once I took a pocket knife and cut a hole in the pages…lol And though to myself I wasn’t unethical to stab the CFAI books…

Marc fr LevelUP Bootcamps has a crazy system. He underlines WITH A RULER (such a perfectionist! who does that???) in different colors and highlights in different colors, like red are negative things, green are posititves or advantages, blue is important or something like that I can’t remember. And highlights words inside the stuff he underlined. This is above my pay grade…
