It wasn’t a lot of obscure material but they focused a lot more on minute details of familiar topics
Think i would have done better if the guy next to me didn’t keep shaking the table and hitting his calculator so hard or bouncing his eraser. So distracting and inconsiderate.
I was thinking about this prior to the exam. What if this is their strategy to distract you, hope you wouldn’t do well, thus increasing their chances of passing? *Shower thoughts*
I tried to give the guy next to me a pen before the exam. He declined and shook the s out of the table the entire 3 hours. When it was over I asked him if he ever got to write anything or did he just erase EVERY SINGLE thing he wrote down.
Pencil boys for life
On AM section, if you circle the wrong answer (say because you couldn’t recall what the concept was called, but you know how to demonstrate the concept), and your explanation show-your-work demonstrates this understanding, can you get any credit?
KD - need to have the correct answer circled first is my understanding
Had the same experience, the guy next to me used “erasable” ink pens that didn’t seem too easy to erase… the table was shaking so bad I couldn’t write with a steady hand, not to mention he erased a LOT…!
Jokes on him, he most likely used disappearing ink
calvol - lol that may have been me…sorry buddy
WM, no problem, good luck next year.
I didn’t use a pencil.
Imagine a notebook that stays closed. I think what I wrote would fade by the time they got to checking the paper.
Plus it makes you think before you write.
I used erasable ink pen. It was good fun.
I think arbguy hit the nail right in the head. If you handle the time and stress management well, 2018 AM was not any harder (though I don’t think it’s any easier either) than the previous ones. If you had done past exams on a timed basis you would have the mental preparedness of what to expect and how to handle minor hitches along the way. Overall it was a fair exam.
The beginning part of pm was somewhat easier than what I had expected; later part required slightly more effcort but there wasn’t any time pressure so it wasn’t hard.
I would guess no. However, if it’s a question where you are asked to pick something and explain why the others are wrong, I imagine they give partial credit for correctly explaining why something is wrong (if, in fact, it is).
Nah man it’s not going to fade in a few months. A lot of people were using pencil. And I’m guessing that if “you thought before you wrote” with that pen you probably ran out of time
Overall, AM was fair overall, but there was a curveball topic (just like the commodity question in the 2017 AM mock exam). I was reviewing when they announced “Stop Now”. I found out a 3 letter keyword was missing in one of my responses. Without this word, the answer doesn’t make much sense.
PM started out pretty easy. It got difficult at the end, but maybe I was just tired. I had to wash my face and drink some water before going back to finish the test.
Was the word “sex”?
I’ve found, historically, that candidates tend to finish the morning portion earlier than the afternoon portion.
On average, about 5 hours earlier.
HAHA!
No. The circle should be correct. Last year in AM I made a mistake like that. I got lower than expected in that question. Thankfully I had aced the AM and PM. So, no issues in passing
