I noticed a lot of people who failed like me aren’t posting and can understand why. Band 2 last year and Band 6 this year and thought I had a decent shot at passing or at least Band 8 or above. Thus a little surprised and disappointed at the score. To many <50% and not enough >70%. Started Studying in August… Did all CFAI EOC’s twice, and 5 mocks including Shweser Live Test. I’ll give it another shot but won’t start seriously studying until New Year and focus on questions and tons of Mocks…Congrats to all that passed…
Don’t want to be cocky but…passed L1 in December turned around and just passed L2 with only putting in 150 hours, oh and 70 + in all sections but Econ and Alt (50-70). Now let’s hope L3 doesn’t kick my ass.
To be fair, it is ethical & professional standards. That professenial standards bit is a pretty broad brush, and certainly encapsulates regs and compliance.
Passed on my first attempt. I’ve lurked on these forums in the past but never posted before, but I wanted to post my results both because I’m so freaking thrilled and because I think my results might be instructive for others. Definitely NOT the most impressive passing matrix:
>70%: CF, Ethics (which I thought I bombed), FRA 51%-70%: AI, Derivs, Equity, PM, Quant
<=50%: Econ, FI
I used Schweser Notes and videos, supplemented with CFAI EOC questions–but generally only the item-set type questions, not the open-ended ones, and not for every topic, just those where I felt I needed additional work.
Also, because I knew accounting was a weak area for me, I spent the additional $ to take John Harris’ accounting seminar. It obviously paid off, since FRA was one of my three 70%+ areas, and I’d highly recommend that for any other LII takers who are weak in accounting.
