Predict the result

I felt pretty good going into it, but found the exam to be quite difficult. That said, I could see anything from a band 8 to 70%+ on all (except maybe alternatives). Problem with the exam is even when you think you nailed something, you may have really just nailed one of their tricks… Fingers crossed. GL to all!

my percetage is not less 64.5 is there chance to pass as well as there is advatnage to be more than or equal 67 % ?

Dear MissCleo, Your breakdown looks more like a pass (band 10 at worst) than a band 8… If one fails band 8 with a such subscores, the pass rate would be extremely low imho…your minimum score should be 80 out of 120 with that breakdown…which would be closer to pass than fail band 10…

I’ll bite. Pass Item Set Q# Topic Max Pts <=50% 51%-70% >70% - Alternative Investments 18 - -* - Corporate Finance 36 - * - - Derivatives 36 - - * - Economics 18 - - * - Equity Investments 72 - - * - Ethical & Professional Standards 36 - - * - Financial Reporting & Analysis 72 - - * - Fixed Income Investments 36 - - * - Portfolio Management 18 - - * - Quantitative Methods 18 - * - Wow, only two people genuinely think they passed? I don’t care about the breakdown come Tuesday as long as that email says “Pass”.

I was band 9 fail in '10. I KNOW I knew the material better in '11, but I do not know that I did better on the test… Band 9 Fail.

Could not agree more with tcb. Failed band 9 last year. Thought, had mastered the material much better vs. 10 this time around. However, left the exam with a terrible feeling when comparing to 2010. Would not be surprised with band 9 or band 10 fail or with the pass. Ethics and the tricks will be the key.

You just have to go with the gut feeling you had right after you left the exam center. 2009 L1 - Knew I passed and I did. 2010 L2 - Knew I bombed and I did (Band 7). 2011 L2 - Knew I passed and … I hope.

I don’t even remember how I did in the test. Either way wont surprise me.

On a standard normal distribution, a pass for me would be a 1.5 to 2 standard deviation event.

There are 2 things worth mentioning: First, people claiming to ACE the exam will be really surprised once the results are out. The exam is FULL of tricks whether its quants, corporate (this one itself was a trick im sure i got 5 mistakes so far), Equity (2 vignettes were REALLY tricky and hard), alternative (man i didnt get a word from what was there on paper). Second, we should realize that AF got quality people, most of them if not all, have good jobs and have studied real hard and shared their experience on here. If 3-4 people believe that they’re gona pass then what about others who are off AF? I do believe that people thinking they’d fail Band 8-9 can Pass boarder line … and those who believe they’d pass boarder line can fail Band 7-8. As one of the users on here said, it depends on ethics and “Tricks”, and the latter do resemble most of the exam questions :)… Again … Band 8-9 here. Corporate messed it up.

Predicting a pass with >70 in FRA and Equity. The rest may not be too pretty, but I’m feeling hopeful.

It’s really up in the air for me. I put in a lot of time studying for the exam and left the test center feeling cautiously optimisic, but all the talk of the exam being full of tricks has me worried, especially since I finished the afternoon session rather quickly. Either way, not sure if I’ll be taking Level 2 again if I fail. Since it’s all about predictions here, I’m going to predict a pass, no, maybe a fail, ahhh, get me my test scores already!

If I think about it longer than 30 seconds, my stomach starts to turn. Hoping like effing crazy for a pass.

Yeah, after my 2nd try, I’m not so sure I’ll take it again next year either. May be having a baby around that time anyway…(not me, that would be painful - my wife) But like someone on here said, I plan on being in this profession a long time and I want this designation, so I’ll just keep batting my head against the exam until I pass. It may be near the end of this decade, but I’ll do it again for sure.

i would do it all over again if i fail. i feel awful just to think about repeating all that boring process all over again. I dun have other choices because i am banking everything on this designition. I hate my current job and my parents are both laid off pretty much from their work and they are depending on me to at least support them remporarily.

Band 6 for me, just didn’t study enough ,i deserve a “fail” otherwise the CFA designation value will fall. However i am determined to clear this next year. Want this designation under my name badly. Alas i have myself to blame for disaster this year :frowning: All the Best to all guys who have studied really hard, u guys here rocckkk !!!

all i know is the my email from CFA will begin like this ‘Congratulations. We are very pleased to inform you that yada yada…’
