Predict the result

They don’t want to jinx anything. I think this attitude arises out of the various subtle and implied messages we get through our cultures daily. Cultures, born out of historical poverty of mankind, have promoted caution. Even evolution backs this up. For example, if a caveman / woman sees a bush, would he or she assume that there is a beast behind it or nothing but good shade behind it. If the caveman assumes that there is shade and then there was a man eating beast behind the bush, he / she is doomed. On the other hand, if he / she presumes there is a beast behind the bush and it turns out there is no beast, his cautious nature did not hurt him too much. Scientifically as well as skeptically speaking, of course, there is absolutely no correlation between a self prediction of whether one will pass or fail and whether that person actually passed or failed on the day the results are announced. So, I squarely place the blame for pessimistic nature of the AF’ers on our cultures and history and evolution.

In my dream the Band 1 Beast is going to get me but after reading your post I feel so much better. I’ll be sleeping easy in the land of Band 3 tonight!

i really like psriniva’s post about evolution, but i don’t think i’m being overly cautious here… i think there were at least 2 vignettes that i bombed and realistically i think i’ve failed. i’d be the happiest man on earth if i ever do get the pass… especially since this is my 2nd time round. it would have justified everything that i had sacrificed (including hair loss) and most importantly - TIME. i dunno about you guys, but i guess i’ll probably SHOUT AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS for a good 3 mins or until someone from my family walks over to calm me down.

Since 5th of june…i have been trying to kill time…i have been calm thruout this time…but now i am getting highly nervous. I am a retaker …and i so badly want to see a ‘pass’ on my result… I just dont know if i can face the same phase again as i faced after my last year’s results… All fingers crossed…

sincere respect to all retakers man…this was my first time and i studied my ass off more than i have studied for any other exam ever…if i flunk theres no way i can revisit this entire process and sit for the exam again…i dont know how you retakers manage it, but i for one definitely dont have the guts and gumption it takes

Retaker. maintained calm, killed time but freaking out since this Saturday :frowning:

That’s some deep sh*t man. Re-taker here. Suddenly felt a very confident Band 9 coming. And there is nothing I can do to stop it.

Any band between 7-10 or pass! Not ready to give up for sure!

Not giving up FOR damn sure

are you jabronis ready for tomorrow?

good luck guys…the cfa exams really have this kind of effect doesnt it. cant sleep thinking bout my results.

To be honest with you guys, i think i am a band 8… FAIL

I don’t remember anything other than the fact that when I came out of the exam hall I was not very unhappy. Really hoping for a marginal pass.
