Private Clubs

Also, the Harvard club of NYC is supposed to be really good. You just have to go to Harvard first…

Merely go to Harvard, or _ graduate from _ Harvard?

Private club membership is $35 per year! Seriously?

My friend pays 3.5k (sterling) for a private members club only for ox-cam grads.

The difference!

I have a feeling it is case dependent. I can’t imagine them saying, for instance, “I’m sorry Mr. Gates, but you do not have the credentials to dine here”.

Well . . . clearly there’d be an exception if you _ own _ Harvard.

Although not a Crimson man myself, I can confirm that it is indeed really good.

^So you’re more Scarlet than Crimson, I guess.

^ As in Rutgers Scarlet Knights? No.

Dress codes need revisiting since tech has crippled the number of people wearing a suit to work.

Although WFH has been even worse…

Are private clubs a post-college continuation of fraternities? In both you pay a fee to get friends, play sports together and network.

I’ll never forget when my prefect took me to the Yale club after a field trip to the Met and we drank scotch when I was in high school.
