I doubt the girl said she wanted to be the next Katy Perry or Justin Bieber. That would be like you announcing at morning meeting that you are going to be the next Steve Cohen. Imagine the laughs your colleagues would have. Just like when that family put the smiling baby video on Youtube they weren’t probably expecting to be flown into Manhattan and go on the Today show and Good Morning America. Things happen with the internet.

fun fun fun this is so much fuuuuun.

If she wants to be like Kim or Paris, she should think about celebrating her 18th birthday with a porn video, or at least some very nude photos Although I did see her interview to ABC, and she seems to be a very nice girl. Her parents evidently lack taste, she should sing chorales at that age, not this sh…t

What do you know? What I know is that the world is a big place and that teenage girls call each other worthless garbage all the time. And as adults, there are plenty of people who detest Paris and Kim for the celebration of shallowness that they embrace and represent. BTW, I think calling the girl “worthless garbage” is uncalled for. I think the video is silly, but that doesn’t mean she is garbage. And I am worried about a bigger issue, which is that it used to be that people wanted to be famous FOR something - some kind of contribution to society; today it seems that one should just try to be famous for being famous sui generis, and I’m uncomfortable with adults who feed this desire for attention for attention’s sake. I’m fully aware that to some extent, this kind of thing has been going on for centuries, but the Internet seems to make it much more acute and public. > > I doubt the girl said she wanted to be the next > Katy Perry or Justin Bieber. That would be like > you announcing at morning meeting that you are > going to be the next Steve Cohen. Imagine the > laughs your colleagues would have. Actually *wanting* to be the next Steve Cohen would not have my colleagues laughing, they would admire that, because Steve Cohen has a list of admirable accomplishments, and that represents ambition. What would make them laugh is to say that I *am* the next Steve Cohen, because that demonstrates a lack of perspective about what it takes to do that and be that. I don’t even bash the girl for wanting to do a video; but I do worry about what guidance she has gotten from her parents about what that kind of exposure can do. e.g. Lindsay Lohan. But my guess is that the parents want to be famous just as much as their daughter, and are basically pimping her out (figuratively) without telling her what the risks are. And, there is the possibility that she just made this video for her friends to share with each other, and that she didn’t realize that she’d be splayed out all over the place… but if that’s the case, why spend 2 grand on the production value. > Just like when that family put the smiling baby > video on Youtube they weren’t probably expecting > to be flown into Manhattan and go on the Today > show and Good Morning America. one of my biggest pet peeves is when people try to bring others down because they’re too lazy, or not willing, to bring themselves up.

BChad you’re the man. You are still killing it these days.

I hear Charlie sheen is stooping her…

she is not bad looking.

Yeah, definitely don’t want to touch her with your ten foot pole. That would be insta-jail!

Ok, I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say the song’s actually not so bad, not sure what all the hate is about. It’s simple, I like it. *Edit: I’m just now saying this because after hearing all the fuss on AF, I finally made the time this weekend to look it up (I don’t have internet at home).

Still better than most of Use Your Illusion 1.

If you’re excluding “Don’t Cry” and “November Rain” I can probably agree with that.

Looks like she hit the big time! http://www.hulu.com/watch/229352/late-night-with-jimmy-fallon-stephen-colbert-sings-friday-with-the-roots?from=fb_share Wow!, they even dug up Taylor Hicks! I gotta make me a crap song too! I’m thinking about “Undiscounted Cash Flow, Yeah!”

“Payin’ off da hookers an’ treatin’ my nose to a line of blow.”
