If you work for a FINRA member firm and hold yourself out as an employee of the firm in the book, it may also be considered a retail communicaton which would be subject to Rule 2210, and if you mention any products like mutual funds or ETFs you would have to file a copy with FINRA ($125 for the first 10 pages then $10 per page after that) and then make any edits they deem necessary.
As a Compliance Officer, I would definitely require you to make this an outside business activity where you would not be able to mention your affiliation with the firm.
Compliance just shut you down!
