Salary/Net Worth?

Well, if I’m not mistaken, KK is in his young 20’s. It’s likely that he rents a 600 sqft apartment. If that’s the case, and he leaves the furnace/AC off when he’s not at home, then $100 is probably right on during the summer months.

you should all move to california. its always nice and sunny here.

What??

Actual $ amounts for last 5 bills (covers heat and hot water)

3/26/14: $826.70

2/17/14: $918.70

1/18/14: $709.58

12/18/13: $708.22

11/8/13: $369.63

So, $800 was a bit of an over estimation. The $918 stood out in my memory though.

Move to Philly. I live in Philly and my bill is ~$180 for those months. It should also be noted that we had an exceptionally cold winter with a snowstorm once a week.

^ Make you home energy efficient and get some tax credit.

We had a few summers with temps in the 90s and my old AC combined with the bloodsucking leeches at the utility monopoly sent my electric bill up to $600, which I thought was outrageous. $918! If I may ask, how big is the house?

Is Ambit Energy legit or a scam?

It’s about 3,000 square feet on four floors. Windows, doors, furnace and AC units are all less than 3 years old.

Yup, sounds about right. I went to an open house in a NYC suburb and they were actually advertising the low heat/electric monthly cost of just $750 per month.

Looking to move to a bigger place later this year, probably 5,000 square with a pool, so I’ll be looking back fondly at these bills next year.

My salary is $50,000. My net worth is -$150,000.

^ We were all there at one time or other, well maybe not the -$150k part, so hang in there and work toward better days.

I don’t think he said that with negative connotations. Thanks for crushing his self worth though.

I do what I can.

^ I’m so glad I was lucky enough to be a couple years ahead of this generation of workers.

^ Agree. Because 50K today most likely means 55K in 5 years for most.

Very valid points and I think that your father/grandfather are living the type of lifestyle that I one day would like to achieve.
