I had a gf who once tried to convince me she deserved $$ gifts and at the same time claim that she wasn’t a high-maintenance materialistic girl. Her reasoning was that a guy needs to give “in proportion” to his salary/net-worth. So if he was poor, a shirt would be ok. And if was rich, she would expect a house or yacht or something. A weeks later, she floated the idea that if we got married, I needed to buy a house in her name, keep all the bank accounts in her name, and transfer my entire salary to direct deposit into her account. In return, I get a small monthly allowance enough for food. Between this or the Nigerian email money scam… I’m not sure which one I would take… lol

This is why I don’t date any chicks older than 24 years old. This is the year they figure out that money is what matters and they go insane because of it. Up to that point they are usually naive. Splendidly naive. My current f-buddy is a 19 year old swedish blonde. She can’t believe I’m generous enough to pay for takeout chinese food for her. She still always offers to split bills with me even though I have a six figure income and she has a 4 figure income.
I think people should spend how they want to spend, as long as they earned it. I get annoyed when people feel entitled to spending what other’s worked hard for. The senior group head of my team makes extremely good money, and yet he’s really cheap on everything he buys and uses, using groupon, slickdeals, restaurant.com certificates all the time. Even sneaking them in during client dinners… And his wife is the same. She spends very sparingly. That’s a real keeper

You can’t date 19 year hold bartenders/students forever…conversation gets boo-or-ing. Ideally, money is just not an issue in the relationship. I’ve had a few of these, with women who either are very thrifty (fine by me) or make a lot of money (also fine by me).

My gig in India is a joke, I’m the first to admit it, but it pays well. Most completely unrelated to call centers, that’s a bangalore thing. I never wanted to work in finance.l. I as 23 years old the first time I heard the word balance sheet. I still think what most of you guys do is boring. I just like getting paid to travel around interesting places and buy shit. That’s what I do. The CFA just helps legitimize that. Do you think all these Indians on this forum are taking the CFA so that they can troubleshoot your technical problems with your flesh light over the phone? Fuck no. Hell no, mumbai is a serious financial capital center even though it is still a dump no matter how many Michelin caliber restaurants it puts in. There are about 30 million Indian teenagers who will unemploy dbags like us in about five years. The only thing they are missing are social skills. Can’t wait till one of these guys takes your job.
