Should prostitution be legalized??

There are two things in life I don’t pay for, water and pussy. Why? I can get them both for free!

Might get some good talking points here

It should not be legalized because if it was legalized then it would no longer be illegal and I believe it should be illegal because it should not be legal.

Unless you have a babbling brook of clean water in your backyard, water is cheap but not free. The other thing is never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever free, not even close.

Thanks, edupristine!

if gun owners need a valid license to own a gun, then prostitution clients can present a monthly std exam result to show they can get some poon

^I would think the exact opposite would be the case. A hooker should be required to show a valid std report dated within the past month before she can offer any services.

I wonder–should it matter whether she’s disease-free? I mean, if she’s HIV-positive and discloses that, then shouldn’t she still get to give the gift that keeps on giving? I think so. If a dude is stupid enough to f*ck a woman whom he know has AIDS, then he deserves anything he gets.

to be legalized, it will need a decision at the government. businesses will need to advertise and customers will need to visit. some people may not like the idea, but some will.

It does not need to be legalized. Instead just open a “movie studio” where “actors” pay for the production services. Have a camera in every room. You are a p0rn production company, not a brothel. Completely legal.

To cite an earlier thread, the chance of the male partner actually contracting HIV through vaginal intercourse if quite low. If you are desperate enough, it could be a well calculated risk.

Here’s a situation where the heart trumps the head.

Although I know the chances of getting HIV from a woman are infinitesimally small, I’m still not boning somebody who’s got AIDS, even with a condom.

^ The Obama administration hereby fines Green for discrimination based on medical condition - failure to hire an HIV+ person for a “job” wink wink

Far-fetched, but government regulations will be interesting to see. Maybe not too onerous, since pols and hookers are in the same business.

It’s legal in Australia, IIRC. It’s also legal in OZ for the govt to take 50% of your money so that people on dole can live in nice housing and drive cars better than yours.

As I mentioned in another thread, prostitution should have been legalized before pot.

and than people here on af will argue which is the best certification?

certified prostitution course, cfa or indian c.a

I agree, prostitution should have been legalized a long time ago. I think this would take care one of the biggest issues, probably ahead of stds, is trafficking women. A good place to look at the effects would be Reno, NV. I would be interested in hearing the results.

STD certification would be easy to implement on legal, registered prostitution centers, since all the workers can be registered, licensed, and periodically certified. Furthermore, violations of STD control would be easily traced to a particular establishment, resulting in fines or compensatory damages to the victim.

However, prostitution workers also have a right to be protected from STDs. It is reasonable that they would want a guarantee that a client does not carry HIV or other infections. Not only would this ensure the worker’s health, but it would prevent the workers from contracting infections that would be passed to other customers between check ups.

This is a bigger challenge, since it would be difficult to certify every single potential customer. Perhaps the solution would be to have a on-site nurses who could quickly perform examinations for various common infections. If the nurses are sexy and could double as prostitutes, that would be an additional advantage.

I think it would be difficult to enforce STD certifications, given the time lapse between an infection and a positive test.

I will just say that this are the opinions of AF members (a popular social networking site for investment professionals)

I think rapes will greatly reduce if we legalize prostitution.
