You should’nt focus too much on salary if they have a lucrative bonus structure.
Maybe you make 65k working 40 hours but other people make 100k working 100 hours? So who is the slave here?
65k for 40 hours is sweet. certainly beats 120k for 100 hours. 100 hours means no life at all.
80 hours is pretty much no life either
Frank, tell me you’re not getting north of 65hrs at TD Waterhouse?
All the are in revenue centeres (sales, either retal or whole sale, lets be honest IB is really really high end sales work). If things are that dismal and money is you main motivation it may be worth noting.......A retail broker with a 150M book will net back about 1m per year and rookie brokers are on salery for the first two years. Currently I hear that DS/Nesbit/Canaccord are paying 50-60K and by the time you add up commission you should be at 80-90K first year and 150-170K second year for a 60-70 hr work week. DS expects 10M per year min ( or you get fired) intake plus market growth should get you to 150M in 10 years. All you have to do is call people you dont know and ask for there life savings (kind of like the guy on the street asking for spare change but with more zeros:-) Just my bit…
Turkish, no, i work 40 hours per week. i actually don’t mind working more if its something more interesting, but talking to people constantly is getting to me.
