So Harvard hates me....

Lost in the shuffle is C vs M sudden absence.

And how do you know Blake that people on this forum have been on your website? Do you know visitor’s IP on this website to compare against visistors on yours?

Also, you cannot get traffic from “here”. This is not how it works. request are not “routed” through Analysit forum. Every time page is served it locally resides on your host so any links clicked originate from your machine.

^^^ Thanks for the pro-tip CSK but I actually work in internet search on the engineering side so I am pretty sure I know how things work.

^ ho ho, it’s on!

and I’m around FT, not sure defending my identity is in the same camp as numis. If CT does know who I am, I’d prefer not to be outed.

Where at? There are not too many senior level people in IT here, so if you are truly at a senior level in engineering in internet search company, mind sharing details?

I would have no problem talking to you face to face but I am not going to post out here…

I think I have mentioned the whole “Big Data” thing before. We have a Hadoop cluster with 128 cores.

Blake, I think you have your facts wrong again. Remember, the fact that you were apparently a member of AIMR or whatever since 1999 doesn’t validate your qualifications. There is a big difference between age (you) and caliber of experience. Last I checked, you weren’t selected to be a contributor to a finance site with a distribution reach of over a million users, whereas I was. I think that validates that I know what I talk about, as do my linkedin recommendations. Anyway I don’t disrespect you because I’m “junior” to you in age; I just think you are seriously underaccomplished for someone as old as you. Greatest evidence is the amount of energy you’ve dedicated to picking fights on the interwebz. Don’t be jealous, pops.

Btw, Blake, I’m still waiting to see if you’ll parry with something better than ad hominem jabs and actually prove that you know something about investing…I’ve got my popcorn…

Blake, i honestly dont know who you are, but why do you have beef with Numi? Even if Numi current earnings are 0, so are earnings of PhD Grad from MIT in Game Theory. It is all about potential.

Besdies, Numi helped me get into Stern (Should have talked me out of going ;-)). Thanks Numi!

Thanks for the props comp_sci_kid! I appreciate the good word. But you did all the heavy lifting and completely deserved to get in. Let’s catch up over beers sometime when I’m back in the country in a couple weeks. Have a great weekend.

I have some experience on the IT side. I have to side with Blake on this one. You can definitely track which site traffic is coming from when it gets to your site.

Yes iteracom, standard way is to use HTTP Referer which basically sends last page you were on before clicking link. BUT that would imply that link to Blakes URL is posted in his profile (making analyst forum a referer).

^ oh yes, that is true too. There would have to be a link on here somewhere.

I’m in my 30s dude and being that I have a lot more than you do and make more than you in an industry that pays less than investments I think I am winning in the game of life. Not to mention I know who I am and am very happy with myself. You spend your time trying to be someone you are not which indicates to me you have some personal problems.

I passed level I in 1999 so rethinking this I was in Boston at the time and had to get PM references so I joined in 2002 I think. But that is irrelevant.

I’m sure someone has your email, since we get “What’s trending on AF” emails, and there used to be a PM system. However, I don’t have access to anyone’s personal email, and I doubt BS has it.

Maybe some people are cleverer than you give them credit for and have just looked up has-been minor league baseball people who tried to make it in finance and are now in some kind of IT thing in the Bay Area. There can’t be too many who fit that profile. Or some other application of the mosaic theory.

Why someone would want to find you is another story, since you’re obnoxious enough from afar. Anyone who actually gets close to you presumably gets so enraged they start random-calling you in the middle of the night. Why borrow trouble trying to find you?

But “the mods must be looking for me” is a pretty comical statement on its own, coming as it is from a post that started off sarcastically dissing others for having conspiracy theories.

To be fair, if I had to internet stalk someone here, it would probably be Blake, considering all the stuff he boasts about in his background…

Find me one post I have made ohai and link it here where I brag about the “tier” of university I attended and I will donate 5k to your charity of choice. None of the schools I attended are considered to be elite. I come from a regular family. None of the companies I have worked at are "elite"or as numi would say “top tier” like a Goldman Sachs, etc.

You’ve done some attention whoring out here with salary and home prices so I don’t think you should be commenting on this my friend…

^ Well then, as Iteracom would say, time to bust out the rusty hacksaw and remove the doodads.

Actually Blake, judging by the number of fights on the interwebz you´ve been trying to start, it doesn´t seem like you´re so happy after all

There are a number of people on this forum that know me in real life, so if I were concerned about being someone that I´m not, I´m sure I would have been called out already. Unfortunately, one can´t say the same for you. I also don´t spend my days benchmarking myself versus you or anyone else about ¨how much I make.¨ I know you´re utterly preoccupied with people`s lifestyles and earnings even when you don´t know them. It is a truly strange thing to be preoccupied about. Anyway, I don´t have anything to prove to you about my compensation or the like, since you don´t work at a fund anyway. You and I have nothing in common. It is like I am trying to speak a foreign language to you. Anyway, you can feel free to continue saying what you want and ignoring the reality that most people here just don’t take you seriously. It’s a fact that you don’t work in the industry, and you still haven’t proven upon numerous requests that you know anything about investing.

Let me also say that the traffic to my LinkedIn profile and thus my workflow have both spiked this week, much of which is due to the positive attention you’ve drawn to me. So, I do have to give you a lot of credit there for the extra publicity. Based on this, it would seem that I am the one that’s “winning in life” as you so eloquently stated.

In any case, I have better things to do to than continue this back-and-forth with you, but feel free to keep posting if you’d like…the outcome has been pretty positive so far. Have a great weekend!
