Socialist Health Care systems...

Some of these posts scare me.

Oh wait, they already do… Dapper, what does being lazy have to do with the health care system? Unless, of course, the laziness is a symptom of permanent mental illness. It still amazes me that you in the US provide any kind of ‘socialist’ health care benefits of any sort to the elderly and handicapped; it doesn’t quite seem to fit in with your society. What is your view on this? It would be most interesting to hear, please elaborate. Another thing that amazes me is how you can go about drinking decaffeinated coffee (!) and root beer and some other dubious stuff you read about on these boards on the subject of boosting study results and cramming, the more frequent the shorter the time span to Exam Day. That’s really beyond my understanding. Suffice is to say that what feels natural in one country might not be all that self-evident in another.

No, they wont eat into your inheritance, since that money was not yours to have in the first place (obviously, since that money now instead will go into some doctor’s pocket or to the manager of some home for the retired and elderly). Anyway, life is a gamle. If you were unlucky enough to choose parents with ill-health, or parents who are poor or needy, that’s pretty much your problem, isn’t it? And for your own part, you could always pay for some insurance, right? Why shouldn’t you? Even I do it.
