I have. We fired a PhD/CFA just because he had a shitty attitude.

rahul roy:Ask Greenman if any one cares about your undergrad in accounting industry if you have a CPA.
Not many employers really care about a CPA. Most of the mid-career CPAs I know have let their designation lapse because it doesn’t add any value.
In my entire professional career, I believe I was only asked once where I did my undergrad. It really doesn’t matter unless you’re in your early twenties and you have a small penis.
Many CFA members too let their charter lapse by not paying the dues…Does this mean that they don’t value the charter anymore?
Learn to read, champ. I said their employers don’t value it (not the holders of the designation). And obviously if an employer is unwilling to pay the pretty nominal annual dues, they don’t value the letters much. I also do know a couple of people who have let their Charter lapse because it didn’t matter to their careers anymore.

Lapse charter>>hackshaw postgrad.
This thread is geting way off the topic.
My original points were:
1)Hackshaw undergrad may not always lead to hackshaw professional career.
2)Even if you had a hackshaw undergrad…you can still cover it up by doing IVY post grad/CFA/CPA/Actuaries etc.

Your original points remain stupid. STFU.
This is the crappiest thread I’ve ever seen on AF, and that’s saying a lot.
rahul, do you post on any other internet forums? I would like more opportunities to learn from your examples.

Thank god I’m 32.
I wonder how the great and powerful Rahul Roy imagines a person gets from a hacksaw undergrad to a non-hacksaw job/top 2 MBA program?
I would doubt that intermediate step is posting angry comments on the internet.

CEO of Apple did his undergrad at a very hacksaw US university. Then he did his MBA at a non-IVY. The CEO of Exxon just got a bachelor’s from a hacksaw and no grad degree. What’s your point? Do you really think anybody besides you ever thought that you have to go to Harvard to lead a company? Only 5% of Fortune 500 CEOs ever attended Harvard.

FTR, I agree with #1.
But on #2, you make it sound as if anybody can just waltz into Harvard/Stanford/UTSA and do a top-tier MBA. the fact is–they reject 95% of the applicants. And the applicant pool is pretty small to begin with.

Contracting Ebola may not always lead to death.
-
Even if you contract Ebola… you can still survive by treating it.
