Sup Blake

What’s your take on fuel additives such as Seafoam? I want to just dump it in my gas tank and not monkey with injecting it directly into the intake line as found all over youtube.

I’m not Blake. But I’ll give my opinion anyway.

Get the 44k. It works wonders.

I use Lucas Oil Fuel treatment. Just dump it in the tank when you fill up, and you’re good.

I don’t know how completely it’s supposed to clean the engine and stuff; I think maybe it’s only for the fuel injectors. But it increased my gas mileage by about 10% (30-33). Maybe that’s not super significant, but it is only a 2011, and I only had it for like 6 months before I started to using it.

Seems like the other two above are more complete options. But I’m no gearhead. I was just told it’s good by my dad’s friend who owns a shop (and obv, is a gearhead)

Honestly I have no idea. All of my cars with the exception of my first I have bought new so all I ever had to do was change oil, brake pads, etc which I all did myself with the exception of two cars I had that included maintenance.

The new car I just got you don’t even do the first oil change until ~6k-8k miles. There is a computer that monitors the oil and gives you a % value of life. When it gets down to 15% you change it. This is hard for me to process since I am pretty old school and the old school method is the first oil change is at 1k and then 3-5k after. Apparently it is bad for the engine if I changed it out at 1k since the oil in it now is different and made for the break in period. Everything is different with cars nowadays,
