The Exam

Anyone else been frantically reviewing your books and checking to see what you got right / wrong?

s2000magician, i got a question for you.

so i sat for the dec 2013 exam and i finished a little bit. i changed like 2 questions and then had to rebubble in my new correct answers. i think they new circles i circled in were dark enough and the ones i erased were good enough. is it possible for me to call and have them confirm that their machine actually took in the right or do you think they would manually check to verify this? As im sure im not the only person who has gone back and change answers before as i would expect CFAI to be aware of this. Thanks.

I’m pretty sure that it said on the test booklet that “improper erasures” or “failure to completely bubble in answers with an HB or No. 2 pencil” could result in the machine not picking them up and your answer being marked incorrect.

meeee

true. i think i erased it well enough (contemplating) i think if i erased any harder it would gone through the table and probably drilled through earth’s core and into china…

It should be fine, they just say that for liability reasons!

If you fail band 10, you could request a manual retabulation which would probably address your concern.

i got scoreband 10 last time, i pray i don’t have a relapse of that dreadful event again =/

for those who got scoreband ten, what was your breakdown / how did you feel walking out?

I know someone that passed with > 70% in Alt. Inv., Equities, Ethics, and Port. Mang. He got 50-70% on everything else. Being able to pass with less than 70% in FRA gives me so much hope…

dafuq?? so he scored 70% on only like 30% of the exam and less in everything else

i got band 10 last time.

fixed income was harder i think. ethics was "ok ", not sure, i did hear that ethics is the tipping scale if you are on the cusp of passing so i tried to put some effort into this prior to the exam. quant was tricky. i studied a lot of econ and alternative investments this time. FSA was about the same, even though it was never really strong suite. my band 10 results from dec 2012 are below.

as far as this time, its all up in the air. i hope i did better than band 10 but who knows. i wasn’t strung out on time during the exam and i did all the mocks from 2010 to 2013 including the kaplan live mock as well as was scoring in acceptable band range.

Ethics - middle

Quant - middle

Econ - Lowest

FSA - middle

Corp Fin - highest

Equity - highest

Fixed income - middle

portfolio management - highest

derivatives - highest

alternative inv - lowest

X 2 will be the.most comforting thing ever

I was band 10 in June 2013. Walking out in June I was very unsure about how I did, I knew it would be close (and it was). In June I was not very confident about FRA, Econ and Fixed Income. I scored below 50% in Econ and FI. 50-70 CF, Derivatives, FRA and Quant, above 70% in Alt, Eq, Ethics and PM. All I can say is that I really hope I passed this time!

my predictions for my exam ethics middle econ middle quants highest fra highest corp fin highest(prolly) pm highest equity.middle or highest f.i highest derivatives highest ai middle or highest

then you should pass. for me, i would like to think i did better this go-around but it’s just too hard to tell =(

@ both of u-so going by the 40/60/80 rule both of u scored around 60%?

if u r expecting to score 5-8 marks more than b4 or even do better in ethics u should prolly pass too bro

I think if one gets 70+ in ethics and fra and 50-70 in rest, then also he will get through(though marginally).

its the other way round for me lol 50-70 in ethics and scoring slightly above 70% in total
