There was just an earthquake in my office

The earthquake was IN your office? Hmmmm… j/k. I hope everything is OK.

Nah, I’m not in the mining game.

Earthquake emergency procedure: 1. Post on AF. 2. Look at vibrations in coffee on desk - comment on how cool that is. 3. Look over at HR chick to see if she’s thinking “one more roll in the hay before I die, even if it’s with THAT guy.” 4. Duck. 5. Kick out HR chick from under desk to make more room. 6. Oh yeah - get out of building.

^ post of the day

One time I spilled food all over myself and IM’ed the person I was IM’ing with to tell them I spilled stuff and they said “the first thing you do when you make a mess is IM me?”

Isn’t the Richter scale logarithmic? Like a 6 is 10x more powerful than a 5 and 100x more powerful than a 4?

Yeah, that’s how I understand the Richter scale too. Good luck, though, to CNN trying to explain logarithmic scales to an audience more entranced by 4 separate moving backgrounds than anything else on their screen. I think the decibel system works non-linearly as well, not sure though. It would really suck to be at a Slayer concert during an earthquake, and be mathematically challenged.

Has the sub-prime not affected L.A.? I figure they would be the most affected by the overbuilding that has gone on!

last 9.0-9.9 was the tsunami earthquake in Java. Short memories people…

Actually… that was 8.9. Seriously…
