trump goes off on the NFL

Bwahahaha, yea cause its leftists driving a car specifically reminiscent of an olden age and driving it into peaceful rightist protestors amirite?

Typical self proclaimed white liberal like amy schumer. They identify as forward thinking open minded but in reality are just a step above all out white wackjobs.

On a fundamental level they just cannot comprehend anything beyond their own shitty worldview.

I say sit back and enjoy the fireworks, we will not compromise and all chickens are coming home to roost. That doesnt make me sad, it makes me glad.

this is kinda embarrassing

Right. And progressives pick “problems” that have a genetic basis, where nothing can ever be done, so they can complain into perpetuity.

For example men genetically are have more IQ outliers, and more interest in objects, so they will always be better at tech. Now the left will complain this needs to be “fixed” for the next 10,000,000 years…while silencing the evolutionary biologists (“bigots”).

"OMG the problem persists, those bigoted conservatives, why won’t 40M years of primate biology change just because we will it!!!".

He only did that after coming under fire for not actually doing anything. Hell, last year when he sat during the anthem he wasn’t even protesting. It wasn’t until the second game of the season he knelt for “social injustice.” Prior to Trump bashing the players we saw dozens of players taking a knee but I’ve yet to hear of any of them doing anything proactive and I read a lot of NFL news/gossip. Now it’s not even about cops killing black dudes. It’s to unite against Trump.

I have a difficult time believing this whole thing is going to accomplish anything. It’s certainly galvanized people against the NFL. Ratings are down, for example. But I’ve yet to be able to connect the dots and see how taking a knee is going to keep a cop from shooting a person.

Having collected no actual data on the subject, I haven’t noticed a decrease in police shootings. Maybe I’m wrong though and these NFL players are affecting change. Just kidding, I’m not wrong.

Maybe it won’t change anything in a material way. Maybe it will change things in a way that can’t immediately be measured. For instance, how many young kids are asking their parents about what their favorite team is doing? Now, I’m sure the answers to that run the gamut from this place’s aggressive mischaracterization of every person with any left leaning tendencies to a South Park episode but the conversations are likely being had.

If the players feel strongly about it, who am I to say what they’re doing is wrong or a waste of time? I don’t exactly think intertia is the best choice just because it makes some folks uncomfortable either.

Well, yeah this virtue signaling does nothing for their decoy cause. But the “problem” they are solving with their attack on the NFL is that men with testosterone, conservatives, and patriots, have an activity that brings them together. That Neanderthal behavior needs to be stopped, disrupt the institution, so we can “progress” to metrosexual utopia!

My assumption is these media industry employees have the same level of autonomy as the corporate employees at NYT, CBS, DIS. Near zero. Media is left owned. Anyone who stands out against it gets blacklisted. Same as in Hollywood.

Me neither and I didn’t mean that to be the takeaway from my post. I do believe there’s more ways NFL players (those taking a knee in particular) could make a positive impact. Show them volunteering, doing community outreach with local police, getting involved in youth sports or other after school programs, etc. and still take a knee. Those are the things I think could make a positive impact. Donating money is all well and good but that’s really the least they can do.

Well I’m only familiar with Pats players in this regard and I can tell you certain that Devin McCourty has been doing that stuff for years.

Interesting statement from Delanie Walker I just came across. I think what sucks here is that no one is surprised he’s received death threats and racist comments (right?) in response to his kneel, but then we turn around and blame him for fueling the divide. The kneel didn’t lead to an immediate decrease in racial inequality and it pissed people off. They should do more! Maybe then the racists will back down and see the error in their ways? It’s so fucked up. I can’t even imagine the balls it takes to do this, especially in a state like Tennessee.

I also question whether Kaep being publicly pressured into donating and learning more about the subject is a bad outcome because his original intentions weren’t to do exactly that. I know the word “progress” is frowned upon here but isn’t that a good outcome in the end?

Yes, if that was the only consequence of his action. Instead, I am no longer able to watch or read NFL news without getting a daily update on who’s kneeling and who’s not. I just want to watch football and Kaep screwed that up for me.

What does that make my black friend who has a confederate flag decal on his truck? His reason for the flag is that he is proud of being a southerner and doesn’t see it as a hate symbol like the nazi flag.

Imaginary?

StL Edit: Belinda has been banned. No reason to keep this comment up.

And what about a jew who waves a nazi flag? Hes clearly an outliar in this situation and not part of the normal distribution of people. He has likely bought into the silly “heritage not hate” style rebranding the south did after the war. “It wasnt about slavery it was about STATES RIGHTS!!!”

“You start out in 1954 by saying, “[n word], [n word], [n word].” By 1968 you can’t say “[n word]” — that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states’ rights and all that stuff. You’re getting so abstract now [that] you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is [that] blacks get hurt worse than whites. And subconsciously maybe that is part of it. I’m not saying that. But I’m saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me — because obviously sitting around saying, “We want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “[n word], [n word].””
