Trump Wins!

^ All three NAFTA partners are richer today, by huge amounts, than they were when Mulroney and GHW Bush (and whoever the Mexican was) signed that deal. I don’t see how it has been a race to the bottom. All three are better in every possible measure. An average American today is better of than an average American in 1992.

you’re the one who keeps dragging out the breastfeeding thing. i’m trying to change to subject to “trump is overall a terrible leader for any western country as most of what he stands for is at the very least, steeped in prejudice or terrible for the economy”. would you vote for Marine Le Pen? would you vote for Alex Tsipras? this is who you are voting for. mostly likely, trump will pull a Tsipras and tone down his loony bin rhetoric. but why hire the guy for the job in the first place, if you’re counting on him changing almost all of his stances? that and he’s clearly not tolerant and will probably start a war somewhere because you can’t change a$$hole.

It’s all relative. Hillary doesn’t believe in limited central government or in enforcing immigration laws. She was the war munger. Trump was vocal about the dangers of toppling Saddam. I don’t have a choice. I don’t care for war drums, open immigration or for the Feds doing more than specifically mandated by the constitution. Given my criteria, not yours, who do my friendly Canadian neighbors recommend for my vote?

I’m thinking that everyone here who is against public breastfeeding is not a parent. If you were, it would be obvious that breastfeeding is a frequent activity and going off to find a private place all the time is not really viable. A baby needs to feed. It’s a natural and beautiful thing. Get over it and don’t look at it if you don’t like it.

Oh, and my military friend’s stomachs turn at the very thought of HRC. Almost enough for me.

The carelessness, recklessness, ignorance, and lack of integrity shown by HRC alone trumps any of Trump’s shortcomings. She’s demonstrated how she acts. Don’t understand how she gets anybody’s vote.

Im not a parent, but I have spoken to many parents who are adamently against it. I dont think being a parent means you are for it

No, perhaps not. But you should certainly be more sensitive towards it.

I’m perplexed as to how this conversation has gotten this far. Where are you guys where this is such a problem? The only women I’ve seen breastfeed in public have those light cotton blankets they throw over the baby and their tit. You actually see much less of the woman than if she wasn’t breastfeeding. I don’t think I’ve ever been in an airport or park or whereever and just seen a boob hanging out with a kid attached to it. And, if I did, I’d admire the hell out of that titty.

What an odd thing to get worked up over.

I woulda argue that if you are a parent, you would have more of a position to sympathize even less with the breastfeeder. If I was a parent, and I made a point to go to a private area for feeding, it would make me even angrier that lazy, entitled, obtuse feminists want to do it right in front of everyone.

It is not a huge problem, thankfully, because most people have the decency to be private. But when it does occur, it’s awful. There was a woman the other night at a basketball game doing it in courtside seats.it just shows such an arrogance and self-centeredness, that just because your beloved little baby is hungry, everyone must accomodate you and look at your fat self feeding in front of everyone, and if not, you’re a misogynst, supposedly.

It’s disgusting. Both the act, and the women who fervently defend it

^You’re a very odd person.

i’m a parent and we don’t breastfeed. if we see someone breastfeeding in public, it is most often under a blanket like STL laid out. if they aren’t using the blanket, power to her, that’s her right. if i can walk down the street with no shirt for no reason, i can’t find a reason to tell her to stop showing 1/8 of a nipple while feeding a baby.

it says something about someone’s character and mindset when they think the most basic feeding process on planet earth is disgusting. you must think everything that every living thing does is disgusting. are you asexual? how could you stand to be in the same room as a woman if you think breastfeeding is disgusting? i don’t even want to know what you think of her other regions…

It’s her right, sure. I dont advocate making it illegal. It just grosses me out. It’s akin to spitting on the floor, changing a baby’s diaper in public, coughing on a handrail, burping loudly etc. Not illegal things, but obuse and selfish things to do. Just shows a disregard for others in your area. It says that their baby’s comfort is more important than everyone else’s.

i would modify some of your comparisons. it’s probably closer to spitting in a public sink, wiping a baby’s runny nose in public, coughing and burping in public in general, not louder than average. things that could be improved for others with some very mindful planning but otherwise natural things that are mostly unavoidable. also, a baby’s comfort is more important than everyone elses. also, a baby’s comfort results in a much more tolerable environment. there’s almost nothing worse than a screaming baby in public.

…IMO, you forgot IMO.

I do hate it when people spit in bathrooms. I wouldnt say it’s the same as an average burp or cough because those are typically involuntary. it takes a special effort to have a big loud deep burp or hock up a loogie. Feeding a baby is not an involuntariy, incidental act. it requires a decision. People need to not take their babies out if they cant be quiet. It’s unacceptable. I would be mortified if I have a loud crying baby. I would leave the premises immediately to neutralize the situation.

Well, that escalated quickly.

Vandelay really hates babies. So many pixels devoted to stopping them from feeding.
