Who’s voting tomorrow?
^ If I were allowed to vote, I would. If somebody isn’t planning on voting and wants to vote my choices for me let me know.
It’s too bad that Texas in now requiring voters to provide identification. Otherwise, you could just walk in and vote anyway. Say your name is… Chad Sandsted.
Is the staggered election of the senate viewed as poor governance like staggered board elections?
I wonder if I tried to register to vote if it would actually kick me back as not being eligible. I have so little faith in government systems that I kind of doubt it would notice.
The races in my district are a done deal, but I’ll be voting anyway. PA’s voter ID law was shot down earlier this year though, so maybe I’ll pop into Philly tomorrow a vote a few more times. A handful of brothers who are about my age died in the city last week, so I’ll go ahead and vote for them.
Lots of dead people vote in Chicago every election. The liberals are very efficient in their process.
Youtube Philly Voter.
Mail-in ballot. I don’t mix with the unwashed masses at polling booths - how Communist of you BSDs to do that.
Your vote wouldn’t make a difference anyway in your state. It’s not like you’re in North Carolina
What I never understood about US politics/voting… Aren’t the republicans basically “the 1%” party? They have consistently taken action to increase income inequality (break unions, squeeze the middle class, lower taxes on the rich, decrease finance regulation, and thus increase income/wealth concentration). My house is in the 98th percentile by income, so that’s great for us. But why do the 99% vote for this?
Because they are also the angry white men party, the Christian party, the social conservatives (anti-abortion/anti-gay) party, … which covers a large amount of US demographic.
Exactly! The republican party tosses on a shallow disguise (guns, gay, abortion, whatever)…gets the 99%ers to vote for them…then proceeds to enslave/cannibalize the 99%ers. Which really goes back to our thread on homo sapien decreasing genetic intelligence.
And it also says something about voting – what is the point of voting if the masses can’t get a basic IQ question correct? They most certainly can not get advanced questions correct either (society planning, infrastructure, food supply, environmental change, population control, resources, defense). Why pretend to ask them what they think? So that they feel responsible when it goes wrong! LOL.

Which IMO is really stupid. I feel like they could get a lot of the younger vote if they went with conservative economic principles, while embracing more liberal social policies such as allowing gay marriage, not being anti-abortion, etc.
Most of my friends, aka people who are tax payers and have decent jobs, are quite sick of tax and spend politicians.
If I could vote, I’d be all about early voting. I’ll do my social duty on my own time.
Interestingly enough, earlier this year I got a jury summons addressed to somebody else that came to my house. Since it was official, I crossed out the name, wrote “doesn’t live here” and put it back in the mail. The county sent a second jury summons to “blank”. Not addressed to anybody, it just had my address on it. Part of me wanted to go play along, but I figured that might be a poor decision.
Can/do you vote in Canada?
Can/do you vote in Canada?
I’m registered to vote according to the Elections Canada website, but never have because I’ve never recieved a voter card and I haven’t lived full time in Canada since I was 15. whether or not I’m still eligible, living full time in the US, I don’t know.
One thing is I wish I could vote for in the US is municipal things like bond issues, and other things that directly affect me as a property owner and property tax payer. I don’t really care too much about other elections because I live in a pretty solidly republican state and I’d likely vote that ticket anyway, so it wouldn’t really matter.
I’m a foreigner, and these Republicans seem so stupid!!! Why aren’t they more like Canadians/Gangnam style?
