US strikes Syrian Airfield

As usual, Europe is just a bunch of mouthpieces. All expressed support for the attack but do nothing themselves.

Russia just passed a law making it illegal to paint/create a picture of Putin as a gay clown. Seriously.

The message was to stop using chemical weapons because we’re watching. I don’t see them using chemical weapons, seems like they got it.

If they wanted to shut down the base permanently they wouldn’t have used tomahawks, you need bombs to crater a runway. It’s in their interest to show the base as operational, the war didn’t stop because they got struck by cruise missiles.

I honestly don’t know why NATO still exists. They ban chemical weapons, guy uses them on civilians, NATO considers a resolution to criticize Assad and Russia says they’ll veto it. I mean, how dysfunctional can you be. They’re all spending about 1% of GDP versus a stated goal of 2% and stating they won’t spend 2% while the US picks up the slack at 3.9%. US should bail.

Russia can’t veto NATO. You mean the UN?

NATO is for destroying Russia. If they could veto NATO, we’d be in trouble.

I’m more surprised that they still have the planes to conduct missions out of there more than anything. I heard that 6 planes had been destroyed, not sure how many would be stationed there.

Lol, you’re right my bad.

so what did the 59 missiles hit?

Appears to have been a huge base to absorb that much damage. I saw some unharmed jets sitting around in the aftermath. Plus they could have flown them in.

The American missiles targeted Syrian fighter jets “and other infrastructure” at the base, according to a senior military official who spoke to The New York Times. The Washington Post reports that the missiles zeroed in on “air defenses, aircraft, hangars, and fuel.”

Also, only about half that many impacted according to Russia.

“I would not in any way attempt to extrapolate that to a change in our policy or our posture relative to our military activities in Syria today,” Tillerson said at a briefing for reporters after the U.S. strike. “There’s been no change in that status.”

White House press secretary Sean Spicer reinforced that on Friday. “First and foremost, the president believes that the Syrian government, the Assad regime, should at the minimum agree to abide by the agree

Jeeze for 750k/pop youd think those tomahawks would be more accurate.

Who knows, it’s all second hand at this point. They may have failed and fell short, been shot down or Russians could be wrong. Just speculation at this point.

i heard min a mil

pretty decent summary

Very interesting. Always good to keep in mind that it’s one person’s point of view and may not be representative of the whole, but a very good interview. Good to see Trump being viewed more as a functioning president for a change.
