I guess the answer to your second question is both - my undergrad is in computer engineering (which is through the College of Engineering, as opposed to computer science which is through the College of Arts & Science). That means I had to do the differential equations, mechanical engineering, physics, electronics engineering, engineering design, and all that other fun stuff in addition to computer science stuff…
