Setting a song as your Alarm Clock bark is the fastest way to start hating your favorite piece. If you need an alarm clock you are under sleeping and if you are under sleeping you hate the world for not sleeping enough when you get up. My 2 cents.
Since I’m working out when I listen to music it would have to be something off my pandora Avenged Sevenfold station. Probably something by…Avenged Sevenfold.
+1 happened to me too many times. I wake up better with the loud obnoxious alarms anyway. Only way I can wake up is like ripping off a band aind, just gotta get it over with.
I primarily listen to sports radio, but when I’m in a music mood it’s the local alternative station or Amazon’s The Alternative station. So, I listen to a lot of twenty one pilots, Lumineers, Hozier, imagine dragons, panic at the disco, cold play, mumford & sons, alabama shakes, etc.
I can see Pavlovian association being a factor. I’ve been under sleeping a lot but unless I want to go to bed at 9:30 every night, I’m just going to have to bear it.
I’ve found over time that I function better on 6 hours sleep than I do on 7 hours. Waking up is harder on 6 but once I’m up I’m in better form. Downside is that I then need to catch up big time at weekends and if that doesn’t happen or the sleep is more of a blackout drunken sleep then the next week I go a bit Groundskeeper Willie.
Optimal for me seems to be around 8.5 hours but I can’t keep that up for long periods as I end up not being able to get to sleep. Apparently the key is to be able to find your optimal and go to sleep and get up at the same time every single night but that’s easier said than done because, life.
