AIG - When nerds run a trading firm …I’ll take the natty lights and video games, much cheaper.

I love the additional skills section.

I’ve seen these before…trade the firms capital after you put up $50,000. then they will margin you up to $250,000 or so depending on experience, years service, your capital takes the first hit on the losses and the firm keeps 10& profits. Also you will use their systems and trade through them at 5-10 per trade or .01/share…I’m sure a few succeed and others put in $50,000 and get washed out after a couple good months then lose all their capital…They win through margin and trade execution…sure they will highlight the guy that works 20 hours a day and pockets $300,000 / year.

The trading costs eat into your profits.

Really? I thought commissions added to your profits. Silly me.

As far as I know, Swift Trade doesn’t require you to put up any capital. I was contemplating one time upon graduation to land a trading gig and these guys had a job posting at our school’s career center. I tried to find some info about the firm and they have a lot of negative reviews. They have a lot of offices across Canada some offices had good reviews some had really terrible. Most people say go there for 6 months and learn how to trade, then move to a real trading firm. I declined the interview with them. FYI my friend makes some nice $ working in Chicago at bond futures trading firm. He told me that what helped him become successful is poker and competitive video games. So that’s not a joke.

What kind of video games are we talking about? I have yet to be beaten in old school James Bond 007 so theoretically I have the potential to become the world’s best trader! I also killed a shit load of deer and bison back in the day on the Oregon Trail. Too bad I lost it all when my wagon always fucking sank. I hope we’re not talking about Warcraft type games. Nerds.

http://jobview.monster.ca/getjob.aspx?JobID=76193089 here’s the link At first I thought this was an April fools joke. What a bunch of clowns. If this is publicly traded I want to short them.

I knew a guy that pretended to make alot of money in this type of role. I met him at a 16 dollar an hour temp job at a trust and he got shown the door. he was full of all shorts of bullshit

So that’s not a joke. i was cool back in the day but after cfa i turned into the biggest nerd and whenever i see my friends they ask where ive been, im still pretty sure that im still going to fail level 2 because i feel burnt out and im not studying enough. Im pretty sure there are alot of us on this board anyway if you wanna play vids im pretty good at COD4 and street fighter, i dont think that would translate into a career in finance. but if any of you wanna get slayed my playstation online is Shompton sorry for the dr phil moment but if you wanna play hollah hollah!

Own me in COD4 and then you’ll have skills… the likelihood is slim though.

I mean, think about all the chances you have to practice risk / return trade offs. Do I cut back on rations and risk getting my people sick? Do I try to ford that river even though one of my oxen is hurt? That game is really tough.

I’d probably get like 5 kills and die 30 times. Someone showed me a website before where you can play all those old mac games. Anyone know it?
