Lol, this is me. I always check pacific islander and not asian. Never asian. Btw OP nice stats, Asian or no, pretty sure you’ll get in top 5 mba. In any case, care to share where you applying and why that school? what you plan to do after school? And why getting an mba when you have a master’s already? Also what study materials you used to get your gmat score and how you studied?
Will target Columbia and NYU because I’m from NY so it’s just easier, but will also apply to the other top 10 schools as back up, no point going to schools not in the top for me. GMAT I pretty much used every test prep material you can find on the planet, I studied for about a month and a half was doing like 3-4 full exams every day on weekends and 1-2 weekdays. First mock I did I think scored like 660 or 680 so I knew I had it in me to get above 700, 770 was actually the best score I got from all my practice exams so it was actually kinda surprising when I saw my score after the test. It paid off though so It was all worth it I guess.
My former superior had a similar background as you (albeit female). She had her masters already (high gpa), happened to be asian, high gmat, attractive, and is now almost done with NYU. I would think you would be a shoe in.
Can i ask, given your credentials, do you think the added MBA will be worth it’s value? You have your charter and a msfin, and are certainly bright given how fast you picked up the english language. Why not venture on your own for two years and see what you can produce? It pains me to see these bright minds brain washed by soft skills and partake in the rat race when they very well could strike it big on their own.
I don’t have CFA charter yet, I will be applying next year after I hopefully pass the L3 XD. Aside from the obvious benefits of a top MBA I guess another reason is that because of my language barrier I wasn’t able to get into an ivy for my undergraduate degree and it was always my dream to go there one day.
As for your question of why don’t I venture out on my own, well the things is I was never that entrepreneur or ambitous I guess, never really liked schools but I loved making connections with people. So i view school more as a mean to a an end because my goal in life is just to be happy, be with my loved ones and do something I love, not becoming the next CEO of a company, that will just take time away from the things I value the most in life. Hope that answers your question
actually that was a hypothetical profile for when I will be applying not right now so I don’t think that’s a violation But I’ll make it more clear thanks anyway.
