Which topics are thorns in your side?

I have a sincere dislike for everything concerning either FSA or Ethics. I wish there was an option to exchange those with quant and derivatives questions. :frowning:

Valuation - EM Valuation (by far the hardest IMO) FSA - Cashflow Adjustments FSA - Balance Sheets Adjustments Derv - Caplets/floors Ethnics - Trade Allocation FCFF/FCFE models - Iโ€™m just not that good around if I have to find everything off the balance sheet FSA - PLUGS for All Current/Temporal P/E - Valuation (especially adjusted asset value per WACC cost of equity thing).

Its really just a few big topics, break them down one per day and you will get them: Intercorporate Investments-not too tough, just have to know a few different methods right (Cost, Equity, Consol). Pension stuff-not my favorite, but if you actually sit down with it there is only a few equations to know (PBO, expense). I hope this stuff doesnt show much. Multinational-just knowing that AC method IS is avg and BS is current helps tons, and knowing Temporal Nonmonetary is historical and monetary is current, that helps out tons. Yeah a couple are different (Revenues, stock) but overall that was the big key to me. Synthesis/other stuff-this is really just intuitive adjustments. Earnings quality-conservative is good, accruals cant persist forever, so look for lower accruals. Remembering to always keep A=L+E in line helps with thinking thru adjustments. Just takes time, I gave it 2 good days of review and about 300 qbanks and now feel like I can score ~85% in the topic and thats enough for me for now. No shortcuts, as you know, just gotta hammer it.
