I have found it interesting how different groups in finance dress. PE guys always showing up dressed to the 9s, HF guys maybe putting on a jacket but keeping the tie off, Wealth Mgmt people always wearing suits although looking a lot less polished than the PE guys, and then the Quants who look like they have slept/ate in their shirt for a week with ill-fitting everything.

If I had to side, I would say no bow-tie. Perhaps if you are an academic, otherwise I immediately think cornball

My dad always wore a bow tie. When I asked him why, he said a regular tie always got in his way at work. He was a gynocolgist.
