The idea of selling yourself for shiny things is precisely why a lot of people are doing the CFA in the first place. The concept of what could go wrong with that is lost on many here.
Don’t touch my uncle. He’s a genius of my family. He used to work for a big bomb factory. He used to make the tip of the bomb, the thing that finds, uh, New York or Washington, you know?
I am working on my first real post-university job and now looking for a better-paid one probably in accounting. Because one day I want to do corporate finance. I did some school projects in University in applied corporate finance classes related to project valuation, company valuation, budgeting, etc and I did a financial analysis project at my current job and enjoyed it. And in real life, such jobs fall into financial planning and analysis category which requires accounting experience.
My “future” and potential interesting job is approximatly like this: one day, my boss/client gives a project to me/my team and asks me/the team to perform forecasting, budgeting analysis and evaluate its attractiveness…and prepares a report and presentation!
My mother worked in arms control research at Stanford and I remember her telling me during the Cold War that US missiles had more accurate targeting systems than the Soviets had, but that it really didn’t matter, because the Soviets simply packed in substantially larger payloads so that it wasn’t necessary to be all that accurate.
You don’t need a gym to do assistance pull ups. The further out from under the pull up bar, the less assistance it gives http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_F_9ndNBgTw Just be careful the chair doesn’t move from under you!
It’s an interesting idea to use the chair, but I think I’ll go with the pull up band instead as BWYF suggested. The place I go to is couple of blocks away and I won’t fetch the chair there.
I’ve been focusing on negatives for the past week. Still have a long way to go but at least I can hold the head over the bar for several seconds now and don’t just slide right down. The 90 degree angles proved to be really hard just as I’ve been warned:)
