This has been debunked as an internet hoax. The amount of chlorine used to wash baby carrots is 4 parts per million in a mostly water-based solution, which is approximately the same amount in most tap water. So… you could wash untreated carrots at home under the sink and still get the same amount of chlorine. They are not soaked in pure chlorine.
If having a tiny amount of chlorine in your food freaks you out, don’t read about what ends up in your peanut butter, that will really freak you out.
