harder than Minibar in DC? https://www.zagat.com/b/washington-dc/how-to-get-a-reservation-at-minibar “Reservations are now offered seasonally, with reservations available starting at midnight March 1, June 1, September 1 and December 1. That means if you want a Valentine’s Day reservation, your only chance is to send an email at 12:01 AM December 1. “It filled up within minutes this year,” Bunch says of the Valentine’s Day slots.”

Highly recommend Eleven Madison Park, but reserve early!

Per Se is overrated imo outside of truffle season

Jean-Georges is awesome!

Xian Famous Foods

the only two Brazilian restaurants in New York worth mentioning are Plataforma on 49th st and Fogo de Chao next to MoMa

Per Se food is outstanding, and it had better be, given the price. However, the experience is diluted by the hype and environment. I don’t like that the restaurant is “too nice” also… it makes me feel like I paid for their Baccharat chandelier and not the cooking.

I have only eaten at the bar at Eleven Madison - you can order ala carte there. Bartender was very polite and professional, even though my friend became very drunk and almost belligerent. Seems like that place is full of old people though.

Jean Georges is pretty inoffensive, like movies that get 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. Some people might like other restaurants more, but no one doesn’t like Jean Georges. I had the best wine there - some kind of Burgundy. Mofos probably marked it up by a few hundred dollars… Why is it so dark though? Jean George decorates all the food so nicely, but you can’t see anything because it’s so dark. Also, what’s up with Jean Georges tacos at Madison Square Garden? Is that the same guy?

I have not been to Estela or Blue Hill on that list. I have been to Le Bernadin though. That place is very good, and I like fish. What strikes me is that there appear to be tons of waiters there - like filling every space in the restaurant. They all wear black and part the lane as you walk, making you feel like VIP. The wine guy (sommelier?) has this amulet/bowl thing that is meant to be used to sample wine from barrels. He did not use it in my presence though.

I also like Estiatoro Milos and La Granouille. It seems that Greek restaurants in New York all have this ice shelf where you can choose your fish. It’s pretty gimmicky but still pretty interesting. Pro Tip for La Granouille - it’s better to sit downstairs. I think upstairs is for people they want to hide from other customers. They put me there one time I went.

i like the yiddish Chinese restaurant in Chinatown.

To add to my Dorsia recommendation…

Barcadia, Pastels, Crayons, Tunnel, The Harvard Club of New York, Flutie’s, Arcadia, Espace, Hubert’s, Texarkana, Harry’s, Indochine, Nell’s, The Cornell Club, The NY Yacht Club, The Four Seasons, The Yale Club, Canal Bar, Arizona 206, Orso’s, Petaluma, River Cafe, Au Bar, Smith & Wollensky, 21, 150 Wooster, Le Cirque, Flamingo East, and Oyster Bar.

False. Though these are probably the most expensive places.

Is pokeworks another name for pound town?
