Saw it with the girl and a friend, I would agree with the above statement. I’m just an innocent little corp dev guy and I could tell she was still a little put off!
On another note, this movie had a surprising amount of comedic value. I had listened to the audio book during a trip home for Thanksgiving and I’d say Leo/Jonah made a lot of those scenes 1,000x better than Jordan’s written word.
Jonah (Hill) Feldstein’s success began with networking, which is equally important in “the biz” as it is on “wall street.” He did go to Bard, which explains why he comes across as unfunny and pretentious.
In college, Hill began writing his own plays and performing them in the Black and White bar in the East Village neighborhood of New York City.[9] His plays developed a small following and helped him realize that his true desire was to act in films. Hill was befriended byDustin Hoffman’s children, Rebecca and Jake, who introduced Hill to their father. The elder Hoffman asked him to audition for a role in I Heart Huckabees, in which Hill made his film debut.
I like the part towards the end when Leo states he will not be stepping down and he starts the humming of Hanna’s beat and goes on to say something like buy or die while beating the microphone to his head.
Yahoo had an article today about this movie. It is apparently the new ruler of the F-bomb. In 180 minutes, it says the F-word a record 506 times. (That’s one every 22 seconds.)
Just for comparison - Spike Lee’s “Summer of Sam” was the previous record holder at 435. “Casino” had 422, and “Goodfellas” had 300.
My 60 something year old aunt walked out after 40 minutes. She said it degraded women and couldn’t believe how desperate Leo was for cash for agreeing to be part of the movie.
Her comments make me want to see the movie even more
Good movie…mad amounts of nudity…almost soft core at parts. I did not know what ludes were…Margot Robbie is my new crush…freaking perfect woman, except that new york accent in the movie.
