Greenman, how much taxes do you save from one extra dependent child at $100k, $200k, $300k… etc. income levels? I wonder if there is a breakeven point assuming some society standard of amenities provided to the child.
^I would imagine it’s a negative savings. A lot of the deductions and credits begin phasing out at certain income levels. Any deductions/credits that DON’T get phased out would be irrelevant, because they’re not dependent on having children (charitable deductions, state income tax, etc.).
