I’m trying to give myself some real world experience with investing/financial analysis. So, I’m reading through the financial statements of some of my favorite companies. That said, EDGAR is terrible. Has anyone here used 10k wizard? Is it worth the hundreds of dollars a year? Pros/cons?
Used to use 10k Wizard and it was worth the money at the time. What do you find so terrible about EDGAR? I pull PDF’ed Q’s and K’s from there all the time.
1BigStudMuffin and higgmond, what was so great about it? I know that they have the red strikethrough to tell you what has changed between this year (quarter) and last year (quarter) filings…
That’s pretty much why I’m considering 10k wizard. In addition to EDGAR being hard to search through, I want to be able to note-take faster.
Go to their investor relation section in their website and they 99% (maybe more) will have the PDF.
.
hpracing007, do you know if there’s a program I can use to take notes online on the SEC filings? I’ve tried writing comments within the PDF, but found it a hassle to share and keep track of comments by email.
Also, I’m still curious – what’s the one feature that makes 10k wizard worth it?
Back when my office had 10K Wizard, there where many other options, so it was worth it. Pretty easy to get free PDF’s elsewhere now.
Crazyman, thanks for spreading the word about SEC Live!
I just wanted to write a quick note that as of last week, SEC Live is free for everyone.
The features our users appreciate the most: highlighting and taking notes on the filing, downloading any table to Excel, and sharing their work with colleagues or clients. More about what you can do with SEC Live here.
