Have done Quants, FRA, Equity and Econ, but have done them well.
I’m normally quite comfortable with Ethics and Derivs, so I just need to make sure I cover Fixed Income, Corp Fin, Portfolio Management and Alt Inv efficiently.
I admire the discipline of some of the people on this forum, but to those in my boat, if you know the curriculum well by May 7th, that is a month purely for mocks, formula memorisation and other questions.
Deriviatives was the hardest for me until I did all the questions in the CFA book for it. Now its stuck in like a charm and is not that hard. There’s still too many concepts
I have done reviewing the material twice and everything has gone as planned. I have really a big problem absorbing the pension plan as well as the new sections in the Ethics part. Have done 1 practice exam from Schweser, and the result is encouraging.
I think 2 months is sufficient time if you are already in the preparation mode . you can go to revision for 1 month . And in the last you can keep 2 wks for mock tests and practise.
I think equity is definitely up there with one of the more harder subjects of the exam. The complexity of the FCFF/ FCFE, Enterprise- and Market Valuations along with the Residual income approach make it very hard to memorize all the details and know the nuances between the models
@ Carbolic “as candidate you should login and find appropriate test, practice or mock and after each test submition you have answers along with questions.”
check your mail (from CFA institute) or login to the website.
It is time to revise the whole syllabus and target upon the practise questions and mock tests. If you are registered candidate then the mock sample exams will be sent into your CFA candidate ID online . You can go to your MYcfa into the CFAInstitute site and find the sample papers after logging into your a/c. Apart from these there are paid exams also which you can buy from the institute by paying normal figure ofsay $50 per exam or so.
Have done all the Schweser readings and most of the EOCs at least once. Aiming to do some more EOCs from Schweser, CFA EOCs and Qbank until beginning of May at which point I will swtich to do the mocks from both Schweser and of course CFA
I think all the forward / futures / swaps stuff is fair game (it’s in the CBoK and CFAI knows what is difficult to learn and what isn’t) - you have a choice on memorization though, cgottuso8190’s advice is logical and is how I remember Schweser presenting the material, however eventually I gave up and just started memorizing formuals and this worked for me - figure out what works for you after doing a bunch of problems.
Currently i am doing mocks from schweser volume 2.My scores are on an average above 80% in practice exams 1 and 2.Tomorrow or day after tomorrow i will complete practice exam 3 from schweser volume 2.
Finished Schweser review on April 3. Originally intended to be done by mid March. Didn’t do EOC questions yet… wishing I had… mostly done book 1 EOC questions now. Regretting my week-long vacation in MX a few weeks back. Aiming to be done all of the EOC questions by end of April, and then May is all CFAI EOC questions, mocks and cramming formulas.
