2011 CFA Question 4 - Cobbs Douglas

In the question they ask you to calculate the growth rate. The guideline answer has a whole explanation for why the cobbs-douglas function is useful, and then goes on the calculate. Do we need to include an explanation of why the formula we are using is supposed to be used when asked to calculate something??

I was confused by that as well, so i went back and checked the question to make sure I did not miss another key word in there. I think it’s just another case of the guideline answer being a teaching tool and more extensive than necessary, because it was just a 4 minute question that only said to calculate the growth rate.

Jup. If they say “Calculate…”, I would definitely assumes that they do not want to see the text explanation.
