I think I know which one you are referring to. We should write to the CFA about that, they should not be allowed to test a formula they said we don’t have to know.
There were definitely a lot of tricks throughout, but also some easy, straightforward ones.
Yeah not required to know the formula but required to know how the theory works and if you know how the theory works you should be able to calculate it. I had to guess on that one too
Definitely in the minority on average. Look at the schweser live mock, on one of the sections the average score was like 55. I remember someone on here saying people they work with were scoring low 50’s on the CFA mock. I would highly doubt the MPS would be 70 (and am hoping it won’t be).
trust me I don’t think it was as easy for everyone as you guys are making it out to be. I don’t think there is such a thing as an “easy” CFA exam, lets be realistic. we are a very small sample size on this board.
I think it was a fair exam. I had to guess a few questions but that was expected. One session was definitely easier than the other.
I took the test in Montreal and there was a 15 minutes delay in the AM session. That’s pretty annoying because that’s 15 minutes less to relax and eat at lunchtime. They should just close the doors if people can’t be bother to be on time.
Also, there were two guys talking about specific AM questions before the beginning of the PM session. Talk about playing with fire lol.
I feel this exam was about as difficult as the 2013 Mock in terms of concepts tested but the wording is vastly easier to understand. Anyone else feel that way?
I felt this test was easier to read vs the mock. Similar to a schweser mock except schweser mocks.
If I don’t pass it’s because I didn’t review Schweser Mocks more. I felt like Schweser prepared me very well for this test. If i have to retake i’ll be sure to use Schweser again. There were only like 2 questions on the entire test where I was like no F*ing clue schweser didn’t go over this. Everything is if I didn’t know it was because I forgot.
Talking to a lot of people from level 3 forum, a majority of them support schweser. The only people i’ve heard complain about schweser are those who failed level 2 using them.
Feel the exam was easier than the mock. The problem is i couldnt sleep the night before, slept prolly only 3 hours. Kept waking up for nothin.
So, even i know i had done the similar questions in either CFAI or elan mocks or elan quiz, i cant remember many formulas due to sheer exhaustion and sleepiness. Worse thing was my brain went completely blank in quant, derivative and pm section. So i wuldnt be surprised if i have those sections in low range. I didnt even see the questions when i filled in the bubbles in quant section. For derivative, thanks to forgettign formulas, a question that is supposedly be answered wth one-two steps i had to do five-6 steps
i am hoping the rest 7 sections will bump me up, but not too optimistic
L2-band-10 retaker here, thought exam was harder this year than last, except for Ethics, even though I was much better prepared. Used CFAI exclusively. MBA-Chicago/CPA.
4th time taker here and I agree the exam was suprisingly straightforward. There were some spots where I’m sure people made careless errors not reading adjustments, but other than that highly plug and chug. As to the maligned formula everyone is referencing , hopefully we all guessed right. I’d expect a high mps. Easiest test I’ve seen in 4 years. My predictions… Pass! Well I can dream can’t I.
I won’t be surprised facing a band 9 this year, if that. I think I did good in the morning with roughly 8-10 guesses but the afternoon I probably guessed double that.
it was an exceptionally well put together exam and having my first try at it, I have gained a lot of respect for the CFAI from my level 1 experiences.
