God Awful AM performance. You should be ashamed. All those stellar A+ grades and grad school success and you can’t even write out a few simple bullet points? Again, proving that too much education is actually a bad thing at LIII, as the highly educated tend to want to write theses as answeres instead of snippets. You have been 'schooled" in the ways of CFAI and, this lesson having been learned, you will now get with the program next year on the AM section and force yourself to write how CFAI wants you to write.
I would expect that among the 53% that passed, a very very large majority were re-takers who had to learn this lesson the hard way in their first attempt – just like you.
Thank’s AH, I thought I had 6 sections only =<50 in the AM… there are a good number of peeps who passed the d**n exam with 8-9 sections in AM under =<50… Are you among the passing lot this year???
Living in Manhattan damages brain cells (too much pollution, Chinese food, and the nasty chemicals coming from NJ). Some say that Elmo in Times Square was a very successful banker. Brian Williams started imagining things. Fox News is there (dumbest thing ever). FlashDancers was a public library,…
Try leaving the concrete jungle for a couple of weeks and you’ll regain your outstanding performance
I think you’re pursuing CFA for all the wrong reasons.
Your comment about being in IB really rubs me the wrong way, I bet that’s your go to line at run of the mill swanky midtown bar? People who are “important” don’t make such ridiculous strides to tell everyone how awesome they are.
Nah, they do if they are hurt like I am at this moment. CFAI has taken me for a toy too much that I had to take time off today and tomorrow because I was unproductive. My colleague understands that someone with my academic achievements would feel this hurt… so, who the heck are you to give your imbecile generalized comments. Get a middle finger too… hehehehehehe!!!
You had to take time off because you’re so frustrated? You must have lied in your interview when they asked how you handle high pressure situations. Do you have a meltdown when the printer jams as you print 100 deal decks for you boss?
CFAI is a different animal than traditional education. In conventional education, including MBS, if you know the material you generally get good grades.
CFAI exams are not ONLY about knowing the material, it’s about being able to negotiate your way through very tricky exams with lots of twists and turns. It’s also a series of grueling exams. 8-5 is a long time to take a f’ing test. As I mentioned, I failed L3 likely because I got in a hurry and wanted to beat the 30 minute lockdown.
I can easily see how someone could be stellar in traditional academics and still struggle with CFAI. And that is because CFAI is about so much more than simply KNOWING the material. Just my opinion.
WTF are you talking about kid??? I am a Portfolio Manager. I don’t print reports, I used to do that some time back when I was still at the beginning of my CFA journey; you see, you see those times I was an excited puppy like yourself.
Today, I request young excited CFA passers like you to print those reports… my boss considers me a partner even though I am 31 only. I am good at what I do, so he doesn’t give a f*** that I am out of office today and tomorrow. He knows we will be dancing with big bonuses come Feb next year. What’s the point of staying in office in days where I am thinking of CFAI instead on that particular portfolio.
Yes… I am out of office today to post on AF giving a middle finger to kids like you…
Thanks jordansque23… honestly, I thought I would pass if I nailed the PM; PM was much harder for me. May be, I underestimated the AM; but on exam day, I did well in those topics which I scored <=50 esp. Econ - I thought I pocketed the 14points.
Results show that I was almost perfect in PM but screwed the AM…
Like I posted, I am gonna give them a dam* middle finger; I will pass in 2016; may be they will allow me to post a score of over 70 in everything… I am ready to drop everything else just to prove to the Inst. that I ought to be respected. No more cat-mouse borderline fails…
I will definitely let you know as soon as I hear back from them. I’m pretty sure I’ve got a better chance of winning the lottery though than getting result reversed.
