I have done 4 schweser mocks and I average in the mid 70s…I think doing EOC will be better than spending my time doing the CFA mock because of all the errors. I can’t be wasting time trying to figure out if they F**** up or not Wednesday - Quick review of FI, Alt, PM, Quant, Econ- Then EOC Q’s Thursday - FSA,EQUITY,DERIV - EOC Q’s Friday - Ethics + Deriv I don’t plan on stopping until 6:00PM on Friday night. The key for me is keeping all the information fresh instead of doing questions… Can’t answer the question if you don’t know the concepts. Good Luck.
My last tests a day ago averaged 55%. Have been revising with secret sauce and EOCs since. Should I even try to a> Take any more Schweser mock tests ? b> take the CFAI tests ? c> take the exam at all or give up until 2012 ?
my 3 day plan: today - review all Equity and FSA material tomorrow - review Ethics in it’s entirety along with practice questions Friday - light review of all sections along with formulas good luck everyone, I’m looking forward to exam day
Today: Ethics and Alternative Asset - Using the end of chapter questions along with examples in the chapter. - Review flash cards of formulas I have been writing so far (note to self - running out of flash cards) - Attempt to get through 4 notebooks of notes Tomorrow - Equity Equity all day - End of chapter questions and in chapter examples - Review flash cards of formulas Friday - FSA all day. - End of chapter questions and in chapter examples - Flash Cards - Maybe notes Saturday - Nail this sucker!!!
Last year I started a new role 3 months before the exam after moving from Asia to the UK. It was last minute and as soon as I started they threw me into courses for the CA qualification. I knew I was fucked for the exam but I had paid for it so went and wrote anyways. I don’t think you do yourself any benefit by pulling out at this point. If anything, going in and writing it, even if you get your butt kicked, will only motivate you for next year and give you a perspective for how much you need to study etc. Don’t pull out now. If nothing else, it makes the rest of us look better!
Today: AI, PM, Eq review with EOCs Tom: FSA, Quant, Eco, Corp Fin Day after tom: Ethics , Derivatives, FI and ALL formulas Don’t wish to review all heavy subjects on the same day. Also planning to review ethics / solve a couple of questions everyday.
What is the average minimum needed to pass ? 70% - 65% ?
you need a 71.65% to pass
Very Funny MFIN…I can see you are looking fwd to the exam. Getting less and less enthused about my money helping to make others look better
haha yes, very much so…ready to kill it. your money helping to make others look good? want to eloborate?
Corp Finance, Ethics Today Equity, Ethics Tomorrow Derivatives,FSA Friday I have heard the MPS has been as low as 55% and as high as 75% from my local CFA President who use to ge a grader. He said the difference between the passing grade and missing one more question will fail close to 25% of the candidates… SCARRYY!!!
CFA_Chap’s earlier comment …focus on trail
Smiley face you stole that comment from cfa jay, so it is an ethical violation because you’re reporting the statement as your own whereas it really isnt
re-doing EOCs for the 3rd time for Fixed Income, Corp Fin, Port Mngmt and Derivatives (actually 3/4 done derivatives now, will do FI next). Today: finish derivatives and FI EOCs, write out formulas Tomorrow: Finish Corp fin and Port mngmt, write out formulas Friday: write and rewrite formulas all day, maybe do a session of a mock exam, but not 2 of them. Already did all other sections’ EOCs 3 times, and one of those rounds was started at the tail end of last week.
