Hopefully I passed L2 and can move on to L3 next week…if that is the case and having to deal with new material in L3… I would start studying right away in Sep. – but I wouldn’t go hardcore all gung-ho, I would put in a few hours here and there just to get an early start and as the months roll by get deeper into it… But as the test neared couple of months ago – I did find that I wished I had an extra month … I passed L1 in Dec and moved right on to L2 for Jun with only 5 months to study…between taking a week off here & there so as to not burn out – I could have used more time…

Dont think i have anything else to add… RIP guys
Newbies (like myself)…let’s shoot for >70% on all sections!
burnout hogwash.I started reading for my level 1 in december of the prior year. And by march/april i was suffering from the a severe form of agent burnout. But seeing that pass at my first attempt was so so so so worth . This was an exam people felt that an african couldnt pass, last year the pass rate for Africa/middle east was 22%. And I ended making above 71% in 7 courses and 51-70 in 3 courses and I am really proud of myself. So daj i totally support in your enthusiasm cause I am planning to pay for my books by the end of august and i will start reading september 1st. Nothing should stand in your way of getting ur dreams so lets ace this exam.

I don’t know about Africans not being able to pass the CFA (a peculiar stereotype if I’ve ever heard one), but if you’re any indication, they surely are not capable of recognizing well-intended advice when they see it. “Stand in your way of getting your dreams”–are you kidding me?! Name one person in this thread attempting to do that. Everyone who has been down the L2 road who is responding is trying to guide you guys in the right direction. The fact that you react to this in such a defensive way is puzzling to say the least. Also, I’m not sure what your point is. You admit to burning out. Yes, you’re right, burning out in and of itself does not guarantee failure. However, it sure isn’t an ingredient in the recipe for success. Seriously, -nobody- needs to study for one of these puppies for a year. People have been doing the December LI/June LII for years and have found that 4 1/2 month gap (considering the delay in getting the results) to be more than adequate to prepare for this test. Should this stop you from starting that early? Yes, really, it should. I won’t reiterate what everyone else has said on here already, but they all make valid points. You’re looking at some serious diminishing returns, if not actually handicapping yourself by starting so early (August(!) in Daj’s case). At the end of the day, it’s your life. If you are content to needlessly spend an extra half year with your head buried in a book, and eventually endure the misery of trying to work through a serious case of burnout, then have at it. And I’m sorry, this Daj kid is just flat-out annoying. What’s worse is that he is not in fact a kid, but rather an adult a number of years my senior. I enjoy the enthusiasm of those who passed LI, but this guy’s a clown.
hey, AA, I love you. same brain.
Agreed. Not really with the “love” part though
“come on jalmy now, smile on your brother, everybody get together, try to love one another right now”
Daj passed at his first attempt. Let him be. If studying for a whole year works for him well fine. In about a year we will know whether the effort was worth it out. This thread is getting needlessly longer and longer and longer. What truly matters is whether u get to where u r going. Everybody should back in a years time to see who was right or wrong. AA, I do understand that all the advice is well intentioned but all the Daj needling is, to me, unnecessary
you may find it unecessary, but let’s see how you do next year in August when you are impatiently waiting and you have a Daj clone bouncing off the walls 24/7.

Congrats on passing, that is indeed impressive.

This is another reason why I am so annoyed that new level 2 students get a head start to study while we have to wait around. They should have announced the results all on the same day!!

I think you guys should change the thread title from “303 day …” to “296 days …” Time is running out … for L2 exam … I haven’t noticed 7 days passed so quickly

It’s so he could keep talking whilst he was sucking his own d*ck.
