40/60/80

This was new to me until this weekend. Anyway, you get scores in 3 bands. Assume the worst is 40%, middle is 60%, and the best is 80%. Then, you can estimate your overall score. cfafa Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > can someone explain the 40/60/80 concept? or post > a link to help me understand? 67.6% - Pass babe…

Thanks echason!

Looks like they weighted morning section harder this year. Prior years if you ace’d multiple choice and squeezed by in morning, you were good for a pass. Now, u need almost over 65% in both sections 40/60/80 Morning 60% Afternoon 72% Total 65.83% Failed!

cross, you were very close, because I got 60% morning 74% afternoon under 80/60/40 scoring and passed with a 67.4

69.89% AM 60.00% PM 64.9% Total - Pass - seems near the threshold…I saw a 63.9% pass too, although something higher with a fail…obviously this metric is only a rough guideline…And most importantly, a pass is a pass…

70.83 - PASS

68.2778% - Pass

67.0% fail (Band 10)

AM - 56.8 PM - 68 Total 62.44 FAIL this with better than 70% on ethics. I could puke…so disappointed in myself, and yet I already printed 2010 LOS. back on the horse.

72.9% pass

Buck - So what u are telling me is… the last 2 multiple choice questions I guessed on, which later I found out were the wrong answer, cost me a year worth of studying! uggg…the CFA Institute are in their own world. A lot of these scores would have past only 2 years ago.

63.39% Pass

cannot believe i did worse on the pm than am: am: 71.2 pm: 62.0 total: 66.6

AM: 65.9% PM: 80.0% Pass

63.11% morning, 78% afternoon. Thank you mulitple choice for the 70.55% and the pass.

Level 3: Pass The table below illustrates your subject matter strengths and weaknesses. The three columns on the right are marked with asterisks to indicate your performance on each question or topic area. WHAT’S THE MATTER WITH INDIVIDUAL 9? ALMOST ALL THE SCORES I’VE SEEN HERE WERE BELOW 50%! IT WAS ALMOST THE ONLY ONE I THOUGH SHOULD HAVE GIVEN ME 100%! (ANOTHER SUPRISES ARE EVAL. AND ETHICS). But anyway… who cares… THANKS GOD I DID IT! (40/60/80 seems really to be a weak benchmark for L3)

64.11% failed band 8.

65.55% and 70% morning/afternoon= pass… agree with Kostia, 40/60/80 is weak metric, but only for afternoon imho…morning i think it is more accurate.
