Just wondering if I should postpone putting any money in my 401(k). My first ever plan is starting October this year. Please share your comments. Thank you.
Not at all. You’re getting free money from your employer and you are able to take tax deductions from your 401(k) deferrals. You’re not going to be breaking the bank with your 401(k). At least max out your employer’s match. No one knows when the market is going to hit a bottom but you’re getting all of you investments at a discount.
